Why does the 'Hardcore' scene change a winning formula?
In my opinion the scene from '91-'95 was the best. Original tunes and productions and DJ's who were in their element.
There was little or no cheese, it was innovative and best of all it made you dance with a smile till the sun came up and we came down!
Rave organisations were at thier best (Fantazia, Raindance, Amnesia, Universe, dreamscape etc...) They put on massive outdoor events and although the 'Flyers' sometimes over hyped what was actually gonna be their they pulled of blinding nights to be remembered for a life time!
If any of you get the chance to go BACK IN TIME! then make a journey to 15th May 1992 Fantazia @ Matchams. 16000 official ravers but deffinately nearer 30000! All the best and original jocks (Top Buzz, Ratty, Ellis Dee, Phantasy...), the hottest day of the year and some of the best lasers I have ever seen!
I know I sound like a OLD SKOOL fanatic and I suppose I am and I know it's a generation thing but I honestly believe that more of us over thirty brigade would still go raving if the music went back to it's ROOTS!
OH HAPPY DAYS...HI DE HOO

There's alot of originality out there now, you just have to look abit further than HMV...

Ahhh i cant really comment on "my era" or the originality but i understand ya with the changing scene
These 13-15yr old ravers drive me insane!!But as i've been told a million times they will inherit the scene and without them the scene will cease to exist...change is painful for some but its a must i spose....

I think everybody feels that the best times were in their day, I feel that way about my hardcore beginnings. But I'm always curious about rave history.I wish I could enter the warp zone and experience eras of the past.

i wish that was the case with me, do like some of todays stuff but most of what gets played at raves really aint my thing.
I'm only 21 and already stuck in the past and i didnt even experience it , agree with the thing about times changing cos loadsa people like the change which is why it has. Just some people like me dont but nothing you can do about it.
About more over 30's going out i think quite a few do at oldschool raves, raindance for example in old school room get all ages loving the early sounds. Just a lotta people over 30 have stopped raving cos they dont wanna do it anymore, or got too many other committments.

All Uk Hardcore is doing is merging Hardcore with scouse house. UK Hardcore is only a bit faster than the stuff you would here in an averege night club. 95/96 had some very original stuff and things were changing. It's a shame that things changed too much around 2000/2001 when Hardcore just went all scouse house and people started to get this new attitude that Hardcore has to sound 'advanced' and using the latest stuff to make the big time producers feel that Hardcore has evolved into some great that no1 could imagine ten years ago.
However there are loads of people I know who are getting into the old classics and finding them far better than most of today's stuff.

TBH I prefer todays stuff, elysium +, your shining onwards, ive tried to get into 95/96 but its a totally different type of hardcore. I think the gabber out there now is far better aswell - the nosferatu tune from HH3 was immense.

I'll stick to tunes like 95 style, the big spill, thumper etc... New stuff sucks and I really hate the way they put oldskool stabs into New UK Hardcore tracks, that just sounds shit. With older tracks I used to get a rush kind of, they used to be creative, now a days I hear the odd tune that makes me feel good, so im sticking with the past... Hardcore died a long time ago in my opinion
