So see ya anyone thats getting bored with the scene, but remember I'll still be here in 10 years, going bald, aching bones and with teenage kids goind dad your embarrising me listening to that NOISE!
dont get me wrong paul mate i think a lot of us arent really falling out of love with hardcore in general, just think the new sound of "uk" stuff is shit.
It doesnt have the things in it that have always attracted me to hardcore, and i've found at most raves in the last year i've enjoyed some of it but walked around half the time thinking "f*ck this music is shit".
Thing is i still enjoyed seein my mates but now it's so dull i can only be arsed with raves that feature a gabber room or old school. HTID and freeformation are two events i thought were shit hot in last while because of this, but i'm not wasting my money goin somewhere i no i wont like.
I'm brought up with the old scottish scene and the english cheese of that time, absolutely adore my gabber, old school and breaks but just cant get into this upfront style at all.
I hate pop trance so no reason i'd like it jus cos its a bit faster, 1000's of people disagree with me though so is fair enough.
I'll always listen out to new talent cos is always odd one that shocks you and is still amazing, but theres nowhere near enough to keep me interested and wanting to be a part of it at minute.

For me it's just the fact that the tracks that are comming out at the moment seem to be rather lackluster. It kind of reminds me of 99/2000 all over again.

f**k! it must be bad if your back as Chris B anyway the UK sh*te at the mo is because hardcore is so commercial again! but once it passes and goes underground there will be a lot more from the big DJ's! because they will need to,but GTO Bonkers16 has a lot of tracks I like in the UK scene ATM! and I also wish people would realise Gabber is hardcore aswell, not some distant diferent type of music! but Chris I'm amazed you would go to a night that just had UK hardcore! no wonder your down about the scene!

freeforms good music i'll always listen to sharkeys stuff and enjoy it, just aint really my passion at same time. But like with everything when its good it can be amazing.

i agree and disagree with that if you understand me. Like aye the cheesier gabber overlaps with harder end of uk hardcore and will go down well in that room.
But when it comes to stuff like hardcore techno that we listen to mate your gettin quite far away from what a lot of the upfront room crowd would like.
Pretty logical if i hate what they love theres a good chance they'll hate my tastes just as much.

hahahaha before you start mate i'm not a closet cyberkid with my fluffy boots singing along with the mc's and screamin how much i love darren styles
Just really used to go for a social to see mates, nearly all my pals love the new sound of hardcore it's me thats moved away from it not them. I live near london at the minute so get fair share of small nights. Some weekends is like a choice between stayin local and goin to bars and clubs, or can hop on a train see my rave mates at a uk hardcore event.
thing is paul i'd actually rather listen to "handbag" (copyin your patter ) oldschool at club here than whats been getting played anymore it's been that annoying to my ears.
i used to love uk hardcore mate, raved at sanctuary all time and had class nights. I think your right its just a commercial phase, but as a music lover it does nothing for me and i dont feel part of the "scene".
But your right there is still a lot of good coming out and i dont hate hardcore, just i dont like it all either. I wish i could have your love for it all but i just cant.
Fussy bastard til i die

U always talk sense Chris! I see Hardcore music like a large family! you get on with some members some of the time and you get on with other members most of the time! but when u get a family renunion you get on with all of them all of the time coz u don't want to dissapoint them! (but secretly your thinking f**k off) but you know in the future you may have to rely on them for a favour!

cant say i've ever heard it put like that but i get where your coming from totally.
cossa the parties you went to paul you've got old school attitude of everything under one roof, the way it should be but its rarely like that at events anymore
i'd love raves that would play some upfront, freeform, gabber, speedcore, bouncy techno, breakbeats, jungle, drum n bass or even whack in a spanish 3 deck set, some techno or hardstyle. Obv all of them for a set wouldnt fit into a night but a bit of drastic variety would be nice.
Raindance is only party i no of anything like that, obv split in the diff rooms but all rooms have good variety played aswell. Have heard wkd things about elation but never made it yet and there hasnt been one for a while.
Dont think i could get bored of it, but most people dont want that anymore.
People want specialist nights with only a couple styles of music there, where i am a normal hardcore event will play pretty much only upfront and freeform. People moan if theres more than the odd gabber tune and room 2 will more likely be hard dance than real hardcore/techno or oldschool.
I enjoy the odd set thats more bouncy and freeform can be amazing music, but apart from sharkey/marc smith it's too much buildups and not enough stomps for me when am on a dancefloor.
Nothing against it it's just not my thing, have to say htid and especially uproar have been brilliant for keeping raves HARDcore and not wishy washy club music.
But sadly things have split up mostly and i'd much rather be in a gabber/hardcore techno/speedcore rave than a uk hardcore one.
At least there i'll hear a massive variety of styles from all over the world, but i'd still rather more variety there.
but as i said my ideal world wouldnt work, sad but jus gotta make the most of what there is and keep listenin to my old sets

1999 had some great stuff but 2000 it seemed to go dead!!! Ok, alot of 99 stuff went a little off but then there was still a few classics lying around. Bonkers 6 is a good example.

aye looking back there was a few good hardcore tunes in 99, very few though and i didnt care for them at the time.
i was still quite young then but already major into music, 99 i was very much in love with trance and the only hardcore i bothered with was old rave tapes

Classic Trance is awesome (thats a given). I still have a place for trance/vocals/house/deep/progressives/techno/tribals because that is some awesome styles.
Some hardcore music well isn't very hardcore and hardly even recahed speeds of 170 and most are very nrg and its just a heavier 4/4 bassline and boom you got hardcore?and sorry but some choons can only get remixed so many times.
