was a nickname when i was younger kat bud, nobody really calls me it anymore.

long story aswell but southern people keep expecting me to be bald, when scottish people say the word differently .

doubt that makes sense so i'll try and explain it.

scottish people pronounce it b- aldo

southern people say it as ball-dough

same way bath becomes barth and dance becomes darnce

but aye got sick of correcting people when i meet them in raves so jus changed it to chris b basically.

How good was that guy?

hardcore sounding like sped up trance/dance/scouse = shit

real euphoric trance + psy trance = supreme

thats my way of looking at it, obviously not that simple theres good and bad but i hate pop trance.

its nice to here after 10 stellas in a shitty club or on holiday cos it's the best you'll get, aye i might dance to it but nothing to be proud of. tbh i think hardcore soundin like thats worse, somethin about at that speed it doesnt sound right to me, would rather here a bouncy scouse set than a hardcore set thats similar but sped up.

call me old fashioned but to me hardcore should actually be slightly hard, not jus over 160 bpm.

i've got old hard trance records from 96 that are 170 bpm but you dont call them hardcore.

but aye times change started with all the vocal cheese. I do like loadsa old cheesy stuff cos its what was about when i was young and getting into hardcore along with rez style, but im not a hypocrite. There was loads of god awful shit it got interesting again the start of the 00's but now in general its back to pish.

it's not like "hardcore" decided it was gonna go cheesy then trancy and now it owes us something cos we dont like whats gettin played at raves.

producers are still making all styles its jus that dancey bollocks is whats popular and doesnt lose money so its whats getting released.

as paul said thought thats just the uk, europe have a real scene of quality music. aye theres a lot of shit cheesy nu style thats no better it's boring, repetitive, same old sounds, lame as f*ck stupid samples.

but theres still loadsa releases every week worth getting, quality music pushing boundaries and it shows with how popular the raves are over there.

in countries with a 1/4 of the population you'll get 4 times as many people out raving, and with cheap flights out to holland now theres nothing stopping me going aswell .

also wicked to see amount of brittish hard dj's getting booked to play abroad, obv scott browns been doin it for years. but also got smurf, sawyer, infrared and i'm sure a few others.

sad they get booked more abroad than in there own country, actually it's a joke but all we can do is support the hard nights when they come round here.

a lot of sense again Chris! the big problem with hardcore always is, wants it gets really popular the in the UK the big DJ's play safe all the time and stick to the formular! no experimenting ,no risk taking , and definately no change! its very sad for me seeing young people on here who love the music still saying the old tunes were better, the scene in europe always takes risks! sometimes good sometimes bad but the thing is stay positive coz theres always that track in the furure when you go play repeat, play repeat, play repeat! (sing in your head)

be interesting to hear Gammers response.

But yeah i know what you mean kat a lot of the time the sound is starting to blend together.

Thats really why i started mixing and im trying to make the music do more for me. HH3 Brisk cd restored some of my faith though. There is life yet and i feel as though things will pick up again...

well at least... i hope they do.
