Good solid opener, two great goals. The Germans didn't look the best defensively though

Yeah I really enjoyed it. The Germans first and last goals were immaculate.

Oh yes!
Ecuador have just beaten Poland with 2 goals to nil. I expected Poland to win.

What a fantastic opener! Enjoyed that loads, and two of those Germany goals where absolute peaches! Well done to Equador too, quite probable we'll face them in the second round.

The Ecuadors defence was great but that keeper has no chance against Crouch! Wasn't to impressed with Germany, Wanchope must be 40 now at least lol! Sad to say it looks really good for England at the mo!

How rubbish are the BBC highlights. Recorded the highlight program as i was working this evening. I get home stick it on and i get 10mins if that per match they spent more time talking about England tomorrow.
If for one will be glad when England get knocked out just so i can get some better coverage.
Really annoyes me that the BBC and ITV would rather show stuff about England than some decent highlights. Some of us love the world cup for what it is regardless of if England are in it.

Hahahaha, the Togo coach has walked out on the national team. Three days before they're due to kick off there world cup campaign!
The 68-year-old, who was born in Germany, was finalising his squad's preparations in Wangen, when he made his decision to leave.
"When I started to be manager of Togo, I was promised that bonuses for the players would be cleared".
"That is still not the case, so I decided to quit immediately. It's a professional decision.
"However, in not managing a team at the World Cup, my life's dream has been destroyed. But this is a situation I simply cannot work with."
Pfister, who has also taken charge of Rwanda, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Congo DR and Ghana also expressed his regret at the decision, but felt there was no other alternative but to resign.
However, it is not known at this point whether the German could make a dramatic return to the squad, providing the bonus payments are made.
