See I like to promote my scene! I like the feeling of walking around the streets showing everyone what I'm into, by the simple means of a t-shirt.... for one reason!
SO OTHERS THAT ARE INTO THE SAME THING! CAN FIND ME!!!
Sitting there, hiding your music taste and feeling gay! ent going to make you find someone you can relate to is it!!
Only thing is... since I’ve started wearing those tops... the only people I’ve had talk to me with intress... Are gay little 13-14 year old chavs, asking me things like
"So do you go htid?"
Lol - nice! Lets just say, doesn't give me the best reassurance of the hardcore scene!
At the mo though... one of the main things I do... and my goal is to promote the message that
THERES MORE TO HARDCORE THEN WHAT PEOPLE THINK!!!!
So when I do get these little DJ cammy & raverbaby ****ers come up to me...
I just fill there head with knowledge of breaks, freeform, and bouncy stuff!
And you know what I get back...
"*sucks teeth* narrr freeforms shit man,
gabba - you a goth or something, that stuff is shite man
Breaks - you into drum & bass then?
^^^ bear in mind, take a look at the drum & bass scene these days (keep your self to yourself in other words) and put 2 and 2 together to see where this little **** is coming from!
Hardcores taking on the "attitude" root with these little ****s... all thanks to raverbaby! *put your hands together for them* (and there was me saying ALL THIS would happen from the beginning!)
Thing is though... and here me out!!
I KNOW FOR A FACT!!!
THAT’S TONS OF PEOPLE... MOST COMMON & GENUINE PEOPLE!!!
WOULD LOVE SOME OF THE MATERIAL INVOLED IN FREEFORM, BOUNCY TECHNO... AND MOST DEFO WITH BREAKS!!!(e.g. The Prodigy)
JUST THERES NO EXPOSURE!!!!
I tell you... if only I could set up a huge tent in the middle Birmingham city centre... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY!!! while people are walking about, doing there everyday thing....
with lights, sound, big screens with live sets and acts ect... from all underground based electronic... explaining diffrent styles and sounds ect... puting a message across of what “Hardcore” is REALLY ALL ABOUT!!!!
not just with the music itself... but also how’s it made in the production line so people have more knowledge of how electronic music is made in general, instead of them just going "oh its made on a computer" (or having some mother ****ers think its just all sampled on turntables!!!!!)
THEN I'D F*CKING DO IT!!!
I garneted once you feed it to them... you'll have TONS of people... all from different backgrounds, Goths, rockers... any of that lot... the youth... adults, kids, famirlys, old people ect! ALL JOINING IN THE FUN!!!
I WOULD PUT MONEY ON IT my friend!!!
Just that ^^^ would never happen!!!
So instead... we remain having narrow-minded pricks, who won't EVAN LISTEN TO YOU!!! Just judge the whole scene as sped up, vocal, untalented, cheesy CRAP!!!
PEOPLE JUST SIMPLY DON’T KNOW ENOUGH!!!
AND DON’T TREAT MUSIC AS PASSIONATELY AS OTHERS (ME )
But my point is!!!
IF NO PASSION FOR MUSIC!!!! THEN NO KNOWLEGDE!!!
IF NOT KNOWLEDGE… THEN NO RIGHT…. TO JUDGE A GENRE!
So just ignore your friends mate!
Unwind all your windows!!! AND BLAST TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT!!!!
BE PROUD!!! OF YOUR OWN TATSE!!! THAT STAND YOU OUTSIDE OF THE CROWD!!!

You ever considered just a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer mate?

Same. I get along with people very easily when they like Hardcore. I always have a different CD with me each day and explain what year the original came out and sometimes on what label. Now I am going to do further study into the late 1980s Acid House scene to wind up Anti-Hardcore people that it isn't just 'Dance music' but 'Rave' has been around for a long time now...

(it was the "happy" phase if you didn't know!)
Number 4: oldskool rave was more talented then todays stuff!!! DOESN'T SOUND IT.... but you need to compear it to what they had back then to make the tracks! it was all sampled, fun and F*CKING WIKID!!!
however todays hardcore, spes your "vocal" crap! IS A POT OF PISS TO PRODUCE!! take that from me!!!
Number 5: NEVER FORGET YOUR ROOTS!!! DON'T DIS THE VERY THING THAT GAVE BIRTH TO YOUR "NEW STYLE" "VOCAL" HARDCORE CRAP!

^^^^^I agree SK8SIM with your replys (although they do take some reading lol) I agree with there being mroe to Hardcore than Bonkers. A lot of people who listen to it don't like Sharkey's mix beacuse it's 'boring' and 'crap' and they don't like the end of Scott Brown's mix coz it's 'shit' not saying everyone should like them but why slag it off when alot of Gabber and Freeform is more Hardcore than any Upfront/Vocal/Mainstream/UK Hardcore stuff IMO. Most people who slag off Freeform or Gabber don't even know the names of these sub genres!
Sharkey's mix on Bonkers 12 has to be one of his best, hard kicks, great selection and although Scott's Mix has some OK stuff I found Hixxy and Styles and Breeze's mixes being too 'Upfront' for me!

Although i find myself pointing this out on an almost daily basis, i'll say it again for those too dumb to take it in.
Hardcore music is just like anything else - it's all about personal tastes and preferences.
Some like Happy, some don't.
Some like upfront/gabba/freeform/etc etc etc , some don't
Some like to dress up like an alien, some don't.
Some like drugs, some don't.
But whatever your choices....
PLEASE RESPECT THE FACT THAT OTHER PEOPLE MIGHT JUST FEEL DIFFERENTLY ABOUT THINGS THAN YOU DO!
I like what i like, and everybody else can do the same without me slating them for their choices.
Do you have to be from Yorkshire to hear 90's Hardcore? NOPE!
Do you have to be a tool if you go to cruises? Not necessarily!
Is it wrong to listen to what you like, when you want to without expecting to be slated for it. No, but you'd think it was!
I've never been a fan of PLUR to be honest - but i do wish more people would use the 'R' a bit more often.

Does anyone else get this abuse?
Considering how unknown the electronic Hardcore music is in Sweden, they would propably scream "skruva ner det jävla techno skitet" (roughly translated to "turn that shit down")

Regardless of what other people think, if you like hardcore, then ****ing listen to it, yeah I get shit off it of loads of people, they think that hardcore is all about being out your mind in xTc and doin street races and drink-driving etc, general things that give you a bad name. Yes, some of those things happen when assosciated with hardcore but so what! not every ****ing person does that shit when under the "influence" of hardcore. If anyone gives me shit about hardcore, I just say "Listen mate, you can go off listening to your shit like Kylie Mynogue, Slipknot et, but I am HTID, Real music, something that has more class than you will ever have, so shut the **** up and go headbang to some shite!" **** the rest! If hardcore is you then you are hardcore!
