No way!
Many people have said this and I will repeat it.

HHC will never be cool, but that won't stop me listening to it every day for the rest of my life

Yeah and you get the mosher types all wearing the same Nirvana teeshirts but its just them showing who there into!
Imagine if we were to tell them to take of their teeshirt?
Thats just an example and my opinion of a different genre of music!
And people who stereo type others need to just chill!

I would love a hardcore raver teeshirt or something similiar!
I would wear them regardless of what people thought!
We all have our own styles and tastes and you shouldnt be told to take of your teeshirt innit?

Well deserved? Why's that? Personally I'd rather listen to what I want to instead of letting a set of ****ing boy racers dictate what I should be listening to. Biggest flaming of my life? I'd sit back and laugh at the lot of you sat with your slags in the back who are only there because of the cars.

I doubt I'd be going past you anyway, I wouldn't be seen dead at a cruise, anyway I'll let you get back to wanking over ure phat as fuk exhaust maaattee!! ha ha ha

Why? What exactly is wrong with listening to older hardcore? That's like saying that you shouldn't watch black and white films because they're dated and there is no enjoyment to be had from them... Ignorant fools

"Is hardcore cool?" Everyones perspective on what's "cool" is completely different, who cares if other people don't like what you listen to.

To answer the very original question, my mates have the same stance as Bent Bananas mates, in that dance music is for dancing only apparently. To be honest I don't give a flying **** what my mates think about my music preferences.

I'll be perfectly honest and say that I find that modern hardcore (Not upfront) is far better than nearly all of the late 90s happy hardcore. Well when I say better I mean I prefer newer stuff.

Hardcore is not uncool, but saying other peoples taste in music are crap is

I'd agree with that myself late 90's cheese is embarassing bar the odd classic, new upfront i just find mostly dull and unimaginative but some is embarrasing aswell.

Theres quite a lot of new freeform i like and even more of the hardcore techno/speedcore stuff (again though i prefer old stuff, nu style gabbers pretty much all bollocks). Hardcore breaks i've only really heard through xeno's set but it's right up my street, hopefully be able to start a small collection of that aswell.

The thing a lot of people dont get is a lot of us into the 90's stuff dont listen to the weak cheese, we're into the old bouncy techno, gabber, trancecore, breakbeat hardcore etc.

I think a lot of people think we're still listening to heart of gold, shooting star, discoland etc when thats jus the shitty commercial stuff from the time.

Your Bang On There Mate!

Evan tho i loved the old upfront classics in the happy phase! It Wasn't all that was being listened to! and these days, I'm bored of that stuff and dive in deeper with all the other stuff that was missed out on!

Theres sooooooo much music out there these days! so many diffrent styles! that evan going back you find there was alot more to hardcore then what you first fort! evan in the breakbeat eara!

Its the same with UK HardCore today for example (i.e. the "new stuff")! cuse its the most commercail... everyone thinks thats what hardcore is all about! people forget to realise (or are just plain narrowminded!) theres there tons of diffrent styles and forms of hardcore... that reach out worldwide!

See when i first got into hardcore... it was all the classic stuff from the happy phase... heart of gold, together forever, pretty green eyes (by force!!)... ect ect ect

But the more you've been into hardcore... the more you find out and the better understanding of it you get... you get bored of the same style all the time, and you tatse begins to change! then you start diving deeping into the dark corners of the scene! finding out all the info you can to see if there was anything you've missed!

and its at this phase now... in "nu skool" where i find yourself going back... ignoring the commercail stuff back then... and finding a WHOLE NEW WORLD! full of bouncy techno, breaks, gabba ect!

Evan tracecore seen alot more then what the common raver would had fort it had!

I guess it all comes down to the "love of music"

Love it all i say... in all its forms

Proper 'old skool rave style' hardcore really is dead like cmon you can gangbang up and argue all you want but its hardly gonna worry anyone in your small minority. What does it take to tell someone these days that early ninetees 'rave' music sounds dated, shit, tacky as fuk and embarrasing by todays standards of music production capabilities.

I'm not gonna speak for everyone else but myself personally i love 90's hardcore/gabber cos it's f*ckin good music, there is loads and loads of shite but as a dj i shift through that and play the loadsa good tunes that i've found.

I dont think it's cool and i couldnt give a f*ck what "mainstream" people as you put it think of it.

I think you no yourself that cruises and trancy uk hardcore is hardly the height of fashion.

I see by your profile your from n ireland, every hardcore event over your way is dominated by the oldschool scottish style. Every lineup i see reminds me of ones in glasgow but you've got the added locals like tizer (shit hot dj), binman, x-ray etc all playin the old bouncy style.

I've also got some friends from belfast area big into rave i met over in holland at dancevalley. I wont prtend they speak for everyone but there all major into hardstyle, trance, techno and certain types of hardcore.

Infact there away to rotterdam for knightmare next week and i'm jealous as f*ck, they love the old scott brown stuff and the gabber and hate cheese.

Everyones taste is there own and i hardly think sayin you'd get laughed at by people at a cruise makes anything cool.

Hardcore is about as far from cool as you can get and always will be.
