lol religion is really funny!
lets go back 2000 years...
out of our gene pool out of say 10million babies born, theres probably 1 that turns out a genius..
this is what i think happened 2000 years ago. the majority of people were stupid and soaked everythin they was told up!
so when the bible was written people had to believe it as thats all they knew!
god doesnt exist in my eyes, people just made it up all those years ago to seperate the brainy from the weak minded.
i could of told people ive spoke to GOD 2000 years ago.. and everyone on the planet would of believed it!

Im kinda skeptical about religion and the bible specifically because if you think about Chinese whispers then youll know that people always overexaggerate things.... it doesnt even take them a long time. So couple that fact with the fact that the bible is 2000 years old, has been translated from different languages, and re-written a bunch of times... It doesnt seem very likely that the information contained in the bible isnt exactly 100% non-fiction.
In saying that though, i do believe in a higher power of some sort. I mean, there HAS to be. Where did everything originate from? You've all heard of the big bang theory before right? That there were a bunch of chemicals that reacted and exploded, causing the universe. Thats all well and good, but where did those chemicals come from? Big bang theory states that they were 'just there'. ******** they were just there, nothing originates from nothing. Thus, my belief of a higher power.
My guess as to why there would be a higher power that allows suffering...well... If everything is all sunshines and lollypops and rainbows then people arent really going to improve themselves, strive for better things or even appreciate the good times, because there are no bad.
In terms of Easter, nowdays i see kids actually getting presents for Easter. Im not talking chocolate - im talking toys... like another christmas. Its ****ing ridiculous.
While we're slandering holidays - Valentines day is a load of shite too. Hallmark is a brilliant company to come up with that. Got profit? they sure do.

Your right the king james version (most used bible version in US) is very different from any bible in eruope. Due to all the editing. But its not the stories about impossible stuff that you have to concern yourself with. Its the ideas. the Information behind the stories. Thats what your trying to learn, not stories about couple hundred people beating millions
Same as me man there is a God. even gods idk. for someone to say there isnt they only fool themselves. there is something in us that gives us something that we can understand religon. there are millions of other kind of animals. why dont they have any kind of religous stuff going on? because when God made us he gave us an understanding of his exsitance you could say. hence we being better than all.
Its all religon and state. the government ... "forces" us into thinking that we have to get these things for your kids. we need to go back to the old days where parents beat there kids. you know sure as hell if my kid does something bad ill spank his @ss.
saw some kid today throw yes THROW eggs at his fathers plate of food and he just kind of nodded it off and said thank you son. I wanted to hit that kid so bad.

Oh yeah, anyone who doesn't believe in a supernatural being there isn't a single shred of evidence for is clearly delusional. The reason humans invent religion is because, ironically, we're so intelligent. We naturally look for answers and explanations, and when they're out of our reach we just invent them. We used to attribute earthquakes and tornadoes and such to the work of gods before we understood them, but the same thing happens today. At the moment we don't understand the origins of the universe or abiogenesis, so the idiot majority proclaim that 'god' must have done it. Pathetic.

What always makes me chuckle is that whilst there is no hard evidence EITHER way as to who is right or wrong, it is always the atheists who proclaim religious (and I lump all religions in there as they are all essentially the same) as pathetic and idiots.
