Isn't throwing everything in there (whatever you want) basically freeform though??)
I liked his recent mixes more than the popular freeform artists, because he kept things from being redundant and also kept beautiful melodies in them. It seems many freeform mixes are lacking those epic melodies.

I never said he didn't play freeform, just that it wasn't DEFINITIVE. He barely scratches the surface of what's out there on his latest Bonkers mixes, while he used to run the full gamut and push musical boundaries. I would call his mixing "freeform" in a different sense (which is still an awesome thing), but not necessarily a mix of Freeform, the genre, which has grown in a way that might not be fiscally feasible on a more commercial album, if that makes sense. He might have fathered the idea of freeform, which is doing whatever you want in a musical sense, but it has ballooned into something far beyond what his mixes on Bonkers could possibly completely represent. What I have seen is the lighter, more easily-accessible side of Freeform along with some throwback, more traditional "Happy Hardcore" cheese and a smattering of mainstream tunes mixed into a varied, interesting set, but staying completely within the realm of "UK Hardcore" and what is "commercially" acceptable. But he is skipping out on the darker, more ecclectic side of freeform, which reaches beyond UK Hardcore and dips into other genres completely while only retaining a slight resemblance to UK Hardcore.

I thought the second half of the cd wasn't easily-accessible at all, and really needed a couple of listenings to be fully enjoyed.
I agree with you about the first of the cd half though! I guess this might be Kevin's touch?

More easily accessible than the last bit of Sharkey's mix on Bonkers 13! Or something like Orchid by Oli G, or any of Lost Soul's darker tracks. Or even go listen to some of the stuff on Finrg.com. There is so much more out there!

That one is really not a good representation of his musical range.

I'll check these out ;)
Be aware though, I'm more into the melodic/uplifting cheeze :P
I love the cheesier freeform, when it squeezes my guts and makes me wanna dance faster, like K90 - Red Snapper (K Complex v's ADT Remix)
