Fundamentally, I've few issues with Palin, other than the gun-toting, war crazy, evangelical psychopathic mother of five conservative aspect.
Is she a careless 'eanie meanie' picked by Mr. McCain, or is there something more to her? Is she a quick move to swipe Hilary voters from Obama and the Democrats? Is she just picked for her popularity in the wasteland that is Alaska?

I really think it's a ploy to get more media attention, which really saddens me because up until a while ago I was still planning to vote McCain... now I really don't know.

That's sad that you believe that.
If you did any research into either politician you would know that Obama has specifically refused any public funding in an effort to not succumb to having his strings pulled by the organizations and special interest groups that you so often find behind the scenes of a campaign. Whereas, Mr. John McCain does indeed invest in the interests of those who you may think "pull the strings" here.
Obama has run a truly grassroots campaign...
But on a more relevant note to this topic, Palin is a political tool for McCain in many ways. Not only does she garner support of perhaps a few conservative women voters, she gains McCain the support of the broader social conservative base. This base has been very critical of McCain who is far more of an economic conservative than social conservative.
But anyway, please make actual points and don't resort to the apathetic, "it doesn't matter" approach. Especially when it's not your country's election.

I don't know much about who is who over in the states, im just worried about all the cruf from my own country! All this stuff on her daughter being pregnent & the father not wanting children (how very British) is a bit too much!
Also did anyone hear about someone wanting the UK's Gordon Brown to quit?

the UK media is absolute shit. until recently, its been CONSTANT "Obama/Hilary" and even when that was over they were and are STILL brown nosing Obama.
i didnt used to think so, but since moving back to the UK, its extreamly clear how biased they really are.
im hardly surprised the british public has the views it does when they are constantly spoon fed the rubbish the media spit out here - and by god do most people just sit there and take everything on the box and in newspapers for face value.
how many people who watch the BBC or read the headlines in the newspapers will bother to go and read further about what *any* politcian has said/holds views, how many people will bother to read both sides of the story and go on both Anti-Republican sites AND anti-liberal sites....
