Some vocal tracks are actually really quite good like "Your Shining" and some of the Sy & Unknown stuff although I admit there are quite a lot of vocal tracks that I find too bland and too predictable.

Some of the music in the hardcore scene does sound like sped up Clubland AATW music, however I emphasise the word 'some' because there are plenty more styles of hardcore music around today that don't fit this 'Sped up Commercial Dance' definition.

Styles has done a lot for the hardcore scene, even though I admit I am not too keen on his recent material, I think he has the right to produce what he wants to produce and if he does that by exploring more commercially appealing avenues then who are we to stop him? What's wrong with pleasing the 'masses'? It means he is trying to engage with a wider audience.

Sometimes people don't like the scene nowadays that much compared to a few years ago because their musical tastes mature and they might prefer to listen to other things.

Try to explore the underground scene a bit more tommyc.

I think that hardcore has to move on to atract more producers and ravers because if it stil sounded the same as it did in the 90s then it would just start to sound old to a lot of people...and then there would be threads every 5 minutes saying that hardcore from the past 15 years all sounds the same.

I find alot of today's Hardcore sounds the same though. Then again I supose if you don't listen to certain stypes of music it does sound the same. I find Hip Hop, RnB & Rock all the sound the same just like some people would find Bouncy Techno the same (which it is similar in some ways, just not to me lol)

Maybe you are getting bored with it because you keep listening to the same style of hardcore
everyone keeps mentioning the same names...

there is plenty of other producers out there....
Evil Activities
Tommyknocker
Nosferatu
DJ Neophyte
Stunned Guys
Masters Of Ceremony
Endymion
DJ Paul Elstak
Na-Goyah
Art Of Fighters
DJ Dione
Omar Santana
The Prophet
Technoboy
Dj Rob
Dj Isaac
Buzz Fuzz
Sequencial One
Rob Gee
Lenny Dee
The DJ Producer
Brennan Heart
Catscan
Ophidian
Promo
Dutch Masters
Noisecontrollers
Zany
Headhunterz
Showtek
Pavo

just to name a few..
maybe try other styles of hardcore instead of just "happy hardcore"
and that will break it up a bit...takes the monotony away....

thats what i do...i dont restrict myself to one style...so less chance of gettin bored

Thats My 2 Cents...LOL

well, they didn't mention liking gabber so i am thinking that a list of gabber producers may not float their boat.

Don't follow the herd, there's a lot of great hardcore if you look for it... hardcore isn't what it was 6 years ago - why should it be? Things change, it's inevitable. Appreciate the sped up vocal dance tracks for what they are... catchy pop music. But look further and you'll find an abundance of really good producers, labels and tracks making all sorts of different styles.

In summary, stop whining and look for the good stuff. It's there. You can't expect the big names to simply cater to your every whim.
