No, but actually, the idea that you should need to take an E to have a good time listening to hardcore is rather sad. I have no trouble with E's or any form of drug, but it does seem rather stupid to actually not be able to enjoy the music without it.
What's the point being a raver if you stop dancing when the E wears off?

If you only like raves when you're high "you're a drug addict, not a crazy raver".
Otherwise, "you're a raver, not a crazy drug addict".

See, Storm is good at solving arguments :P

I have been free from X for many years now and i actually got in2 hardcore after i quit the thing. but then again i haven't been to a rave since i quit X so i wouldn't know how i would react if i started back up again. i can understand if ppl take it for the energy and staying awake for the whole scene, but the thing is the X here is not what it used 2 b. so i would probably avoid it at all cost here in the states because it is laced with so many unknown things

Exactly. I don't think I know anyone who wouldn't be happy to do a party without drugs.

+ for me anyway... Drugs don't make shit music good. It's just a case of doing something you enjoy while doing something else you enjoy that happen to go well together. eg. Popcorn at cinema.

Who goes to a party of music they don't like just so they can do drugs there? You would just go to a party where you do already like the music ffs. It's stupid. If you don't like any music at all why not just stay at home and take drugs and save some money for all the extra drugs you'll need 'cus you're such a massive druggie.etc.

QFT.

I rave(when I can). I rave sober. I rave high. It doesn`t matter to me. The popcorn arguement does make sense. You don`t need popcorn to enjoy Fellowship Of The Ring, but it makes the experience better.

The Friday at WEMF I was completely sober and I loved every minute of it. The next two nights I took about 8 MDMA capsuls (yes, not random pills, capsuls that my friend who goes to Queens cooked up), and probably an hourly intake of weed, and they were some of the best nights I`ve ever had raving.

well then your a druggie ;)

seriously though - i havent heard all the releases off that label, but a friend who was a druggie, convinced i would love techno, lumped me with a **ton** of techno vinyl alot of which seemed to be off Smitten.

i listened to all of it, and it was like listening to the same drumloop, no melody whatsoever, but using a different kick drum.

it was very easy to mix.

funny really, i did actually enjoy some of the songs off DJ Fury's off yer nut mix
http://www.discogs.com/release/213608
(CD3) and i think some of that stuff was off smitten

Q. F. T.

You could say to someone "you don't truly enjoy going to the cinema if you need a bag of popcorn to enjoy it". You'd be right. The thing is, loads of people who do truly enjoy going to the cinema still take a bag of popcorn with them when they go.

But you wouldn't buy popcorn to make the film seem better would you?

And anybody who NEEDS to take drugs to enjoy the modern hardcore sound shouldn't be wasting their time on it in the first place!
