Made up to see voting underway but is this way fair? I can just clear my cookies keep voting for myself. Maybe its better if forum peeps cast their vote by posting to this thread to stop cheating?

or we trust the decentness and truthfullness of each artist.
as long as someone keeps an eye on the poll and sees nothing suspicious like a sudden rise in votes, then it'll be fine.

Cheers for that Dain-Ja! I can't edit the poll now but I've put a clear message on the front page next to the link for the poll.

It's just easier to do with a poll this way I guess... If anyone is sad enough to refresh their browser to give themselves extra votes then they lose at life basically haha. It's only a little comp' for a bit of fun.

If anyone knows of a better way to do it they can set it up and let me know or point me in the right direction. Problem is, votes have already been made now!

Nice1 on getting a poll sorted.

A voting topic could be be good but it also could lead to bandwagon votes if you know what i mean

Just hope people remember it's only abit of fun and dont cheat

*edited* Is it possible to track votes through I.P addresses? Restrict each I.P address to one vote? Don't know how the site used to create the poll works.

Also - would it be worth making this a flaming topic until voting is completed?

And is it my comp or does tune #2 not play the whole way through?

^^^^ I dont think there's really any point in monitoring things that closely. If people are that sad as to fix the voting let em do it and make them feel better about there pathetic little lives

Btw track 1 - "representing the sounds of Space Hopper records" lol. is that alowed?

Gutted i didnt get something together for this :( Congrats to everyone who did manage it, gonna check out the tracks and vote now.

lol

someone has just received 24 votes in last few hours.i know its just a bit of fun but dont count me in this comp anymore coz its obviously not working right and people are cheating.or some random person is voting over and over and over and over and over and over .............................................................................................

Ah that really sucks man. :( I honestly though we could trust people to not abuse it. Guess not! Is it worth cancelling the poll and asking people to vote again? There must be a more secure poll site!?

interesting, well, i just put my vote in the mix

seriously though, even if people were tracking IP's anyone could just jump into an anonymous browser, and each time they navigate to that polling page it would be giving them a new IP adress, so couldnt lock it down anyway, best way to do it imo

1. is the human factor - make the vote a sign up thing, where they have to regester, sign in, and leave their name/email..
might sound like effort, but at least you will have more reliable results

or 2, which might be even more sensible..
start a new thread called "votes for competition" and tell people just to post the track number they want to win...then tally them all up after a week ..
the voter has to have a hhc.com account, that way it will be very unlikely that someone will mess around.

That is shit if someone has cheated, in my eyes all tracks are good in there own way but there is one stand out one what should win if everyone is honest

yeah fellas, this voting is vicious. for a survey like this one after the first 20-30 votes there is already a statistic tendency, but after one day suddenly someone has 20 and more votes out of nowhere... thats is just not statisticly rigth :(

unless you tell all your friends and family to vote for x track... is that cheating? seems like...

I'm OK because I'm losing anyway so it doesn't affect me

all this could have been avoided if you Bulby had written a 9th rule which said: "please do not cheat"

how the hell is people going to know they cant cheat if they are not told not to???

*edit*

this sounds good, meanwhile I propose everybody cheats in the original poll, so we choose the best cheater :) now that its messed up at least lets have some fun with it! :P
