So I've been talking to Carl Cox recently ( House DJ ), and as some of you may know, Carl Cox used to be a Hardcore DJ long time ago. He said it's cutting edge and he still loves it but that he has moved on from this, and I can understand that..
But let's say we could get him into it again.. I mean, if he loves it he's probably listening to it at home, and maybe also mixing it there, in his private studio, so maybe we could make him play Hardcore live somewhere ? Remember he's one of the biggest DJ's in the world, he is so popular, imagine how popular he would make Hardcore :)
A liveshow on DI.FM, KraftyRadio or BBC Radio 1 could be a start.
What do you think ?

Carl Cox is an amazing DJ but i doubt he would do a hardcore set as I dont think it would keep him much respect with his current fans. Maybe and old Skool set if the money was right.
Do we really want hardcore to be more popular? (no im not trying to start that debate again)

"Do we want hardcore to become more popular?"
Like seriously? You're like indie hipsters who think they're cool because they're ****ing 16 year old girls and listening to Andrew Jackson Jihad demo tapes until they get out of college and realize they have real lives to live.

Hardcore may be none existant where you live in Austria but here it is very main stream and dosn't need to be more popular so it's not a topic that really has any relevance to us, as we don't live in Austria and can't help.
I think the best thing you can do for Carl Cox is stop hastling him, if he wanted to play Hardcore he already would. Ontop of that he is a very high payed DJ so he's not just going to turn up on DI.fm or krafty for free in a million years, and it would also ruin his reputation as a House DJ.

Uh nice for you but the UK is not the only country in the world, and Hardcore is totally unknown compared to other genres, no matter where you live.

Here it is as known as every other commercial genre out there, hence this awful breed of Hardcore that we have had to deal with for the last 5 years. The UK might not be the only country in the world but its where the majority of people posting here come from (other than the US). My point is that your speaking to people about a scene that is already way more than popular enough where they live so it's not much use to ask them about it. This would be something more specific to your country.

Carl Cox used to review it as well as DJ it -

but he's moved on and anyway
no one, in their right mind, wants Hardcore to become 'popular'.... anywhere.

We could always start watering the sound down with commercial compilations, that'd make it more appealing.
Oh, wait...
