I've just listened to cd 3 and 4 on HU3 and I now now we are near the end! I was waiting for some imense tunes because everyone was saying how this is the best album of the year ect (we havn't had much else have we) but it just seemed to be formatic! I'll listen to CD's 1 and 2 over the weekend (I always play what i think I'll like music wise last on an album) but so far this is supposed to be cutting edge! to me it still had loads of boring vocals, a bit of boring freeform, a bit of boring breaks, and a couple of D&B tracks which are not needed! Not one track made me sit up and say YES! AATW have killed the music, HU have played safe!

There are still lots of great tunes being pumped out, "Luv Shy" being one of them, the problem is though, as stated in my other thread, there seems to be a lack of buildup in the track with the emptiness of a breakdown/middle section. Artists want to make music a certain way so that it will attract the money, I mean main audience. Someone told me that 2012 would be the end of ideas.

Well it's not just that hardcore is suffering within.
Here in the California bay area, hardcore is a joke to most DJs and ravers. They all want to listen to house and trance, so hardcore suffers. The last record store in the area that sold hardcore records just closed down, so the only way to get it now is internationally.
I dunno how long hardcore will hold out, but I'm not gonna give up until it's done.

I thought Happy Hardcore was huge on the West Coast??? With all the candy kids out there, it would be hard to not believe it. I dont want to generalize that every candy kid likes Hardcore, but that is the main music that, well, attracts those silly adults dressed like children.

omg forgot about that! only heard a couple people play that...I <3 disco house. and yeah that was '97
as far as hardcore goes...I've been waiting for the next new thing since the trance sounds started in 2000.
most of the current tunes aren't nearly as memorable as stuff from the 90s & early 2000 imo. a lot sound generic using the same vsts and use awful vocals to ruin a decent tune.
there are a few producers out there that still do it for me but I never remember having to dig so hard to find decent hardcore when shopping for records.

When was the last time I went to Costco...?
Honestly, a lot of idiots are wearing kandie now and don't even know what it represents. FFS, they sell it at Hot Topic.
As for the main topic... I think upwards of maybe fifteen songs have substantially moved and surprised me since 2006, but my finger's been off the pulse of upcoming hardcore for a few years.
After all these years... Hard2Get hasn't changed his avatar.

That track is terrible. Awfully produced unoriginal rip off of a great track. Even the Bassline mix laughs it off.

its not even original... love shy is ancient... in fact it supports the fact that maybe ideas are wearing thin

I'm getting very close to saying bye bye to Hardcore. The majority of the releases today are utter shite. Far too many male vocals used. Too many stupid bloody Guitars used & too many remixes of crappy chart music that i hate & would never listen too anyway. I will always listen to the older Hardcore as to me that is true Hardcore. If Hardcore died tomorrow i don't think i would give a damn.
Something seriously has to change. Hardcore was so much more appealing to me before it became so commercialised. I used to like it when friends would come to me & say WOW!! what's that music your listening too.
Maybe if Hardcore does die off a bit it would do the scene some good & give the more underground artists a chance to breakthrough.

Hokay, here's a question.
Rampant DJ's Feat JT - Alabama (Sy & Unknown Remix)
How hardcore is this song?
I personally feel its not very hardcore at all. Male vocals and guitars that sound as if they've been taken from the High School Musical soundtrack don't really cut it for me... yet i still sorta like it.

My thoughts exactly.
