If Hardcore died tomorrow i don't think i would give a damn.
Something seriously has to change. Hardcore was so much more appealing to me before it became so commercialised. I used to like it when friends would come to me & say WOW!! what's that music your listening too.
Maybe if Hardcore does die off a bit it would do the scene some good & give the more underground artists a chance to breakthrough.
Though i do share your veiws, my opinion on moaners - as i have to put up with them all day every weekday at work - inclines me to say; do something about it. No point in whinging about it in the hope that the producers and companies will take notice and think, "you know what he's right. Let's stop making these commercial tunes and making a load of money* (They don't actually make loads i'm sure but you get the point) from them and instead, let's make what the people whining on internet forums want us to make. Happy Hardcore, which we got bored of making and that died out 10 years ago".
I hate a lot of what is being produced at the moment. I've not bought any records since the last Hardcore Underground (vinyl) releases, so yeah, though i agree with you there's really no point in resting your hopes on other people. You want Hardcore to change? Why can't you be the one to change it? Why does it have to be someone else?
This is not directed soley at you Spoox, this is for everyone who for so long now has moaned about the state of Hardcore and how they are sick of it. I, myself, being guilty of this too. My point is, we're pissing in the wind if we simply HOPE that things will change. We need to take the bull by the horns and make things happen! It may seem hopeless and crazy but
"the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do"
I ****ing love this quote, though i have no idea who said it, it sums up all i want to say on the matter really. Let's stop moaning and get a bit crazy, eh?
Apologies for this statement, i'm still fired up after Rowan's "let's start an uprising" post lol
EDIT
The quote is from Apple computers apparently . Meh, i still love it!

there's only 1 other genre that i go to now, that's in at the same'ish tempo and that's 'hardtek'. if you haven't heard of it, it's because it's underground underground. not semi underground like hardcore is today.

I think I said this somewhere else, but would it be reasonable to say that another problem with Hardcore is that all the people who like it, are relatively spread out around the world. Sure there are large pockets, but there is no.. core? I'm not sure if this makes sense. Just a thought.

Matters aren't going to improve untill the likes of Styles, Hixxy etc take a back seat and let other producers drive the scene.
QFT.
Most releases just sound...bland.
Absolutely agree.
Need fresh talent with new hardcore ideas instead of overdone tracks being churned out all the time.

It seems to me like the core is located in the UK, with several niches in other countries, especially in Australia.

complete shit.
One producer is not the answer. How is he going to change the entire scene?
Even if more producers came along emulating darwin's style - how long will it take people to get sick of that?
Darwin isn't the answer, no, but he's a step in the right direction.

Many people whine to much about this doomsday you might as well cry wolf. Some people want Hardcore to sound new and different, but others keep complaining that it sounds too different and they want it to sound more oldschool. Hardcore isn't some game of ping pong you can just hit back and forth expecting the other person to miss a swing. If you guys want hardcore back you have to stop whining and start thinking. What's it going to take to bring back Hardcore to it's glory days? Well it's going to be a tough decision because everyone's interpretation of the 'Glory Days' is different.
