Unless you work at In-N-Out, they start you off at $10/h and a lot of benefits. Only problem is that if you've been to an In-N-Out you'd know that the place is packed 24/7, and I heard a rumor that they only hire certain "kinds" of people.
Luckily, I managed to get hired by my friend at GameStop as a seasonal when I was 16. Then when my time was up the manager asked me if I wanted to work at his other location. It's not a bad place if the other workers are cool. The customers are great once you break down their "it's just a retail store" mentality. Only problem is, with the recession it's getting very competitive and the only way to keep our jobs are to sell %100 guaranteed profit (as in how many times can you sell reserves and memberships without selling actual product). Other than that it's pretty cool job.

How lenient are insurance companies in the US with regards to car insurance for young drivers, or is car insurance not something that's mandatory
I just find it surprising that someone who'll be earning minimum wage could afford such a car, and to insure it. Suppose petrol won't be a problem, seeing how it's dirt cheap over there!
well insurance is about $60-$90 a month, depending on the car you drive, most people dont get a car till they are 17-18...
the ones who drive under that have to drive with someone over 21, and the cars owner need insurance
cars over here are pretty cheap, if you dont want a brand new one... found a pretty sweet 1994 honda civic (manual) for $1200, witch is really cheep...
gas/petrol is pretty high where im at now, dont know if its more over where your at
right now its:
$3.79 pg unleaded
$3.90 pg premium
$4.xx super premium (or something)
$3.50 diesel
something like that....is it worse over there?

Well, my insurance is roughly $80 a month, for a car which isn't even worth the total yearly premium. If I wanted an Evo, I'd be looking in the $500 a month region! $90 a month for an Evo is an absolute steal, it has to be said.
$3.79? That's up a dollar since I was over in June. Still, that's nothing. I'm paying around $7-8 per gallon. I hate rip-off Britain.

a few months ago it was at most $5 for the cheap stuff....but damn $7?!

haha damn I filled up for $2.38 on tuesday. that's why I don't live in illinois or california though =P
and car insurance is manditory if you are going to drive. or I guess you could be like the illegals that rear ended and totalled my truck...they had to pay ~$5000 instead of paying for insurance and just having your rates go up =P

As well has random drug screenings at some jobs.

When your workers aren't efficient, not doing their job, and slacking off because they'd rather smoke weed, and drink, then I'd think they would care.

Hell, wish I had that.
Wake-Up: 6
School: 8
School Ends: 12-1 (Depending if I stay after)
(School is only 3 days a week)
Internship: 3-5
(Four days a week)
Try working for no money! Hey, but it's good experience and I might get hired after.

If they need a drugs test to tell them those things are happening then point remains.
