Yeah I've gave it a try before but it's just not for me, there's a couple of tunes I quite like but in general it's not really my thing.

Been a few good sets I've heard the last couple of nights. Went out last night and seen hixxy, scar and dougal. Was really impressed with hixxys set, he played some new bits which sounded amazing.
Scar if you see this I got you a new fan from France last night lol. He'd never heard of you before but we got him up on the dance floor for your set and he was impressed!
Only seen about 10 mins of dougal at the end of the night but it was sounding good.

Just saw this. Thankyou mate :) was amazing to be in a rave with so many countries. No other UK hardcore event pulls in Uk, Australians, Americans, Canadians, Russians, Belgians, Swedish, French, Spanish, Germans, and can't remember if I got to meet any other countries as every where you turned there was another accent! If that's not PLUR and all that then I don't know what is! :)

I had a bad day yesterday!

I suppose if you look at it it's not really that bad a set on its own. But to finish off the week it was a big disappointment!

Like i said before, in the sun is always an amazing week, five years running for me now and it'll be a sixth next year, whatever they decide to do!

Oh and Sc@r, your gabba set was immense! Anyone that plays A Bomb gets a thumbs up in my eyes!

Alright it's never going to be a busy night, but why not use it to give people like DJC, Shax, Last of the Mohicans, Clowny, Nizzle, Jonny G, Reminisce, Nelza, Special K, Shux and a whole host of other people who are absolutely smashing the Uk scene every week without fail, a chance?

You do realize that the people who were booked on that stage have been djs & promoters keeping the scene alive over here for more than a decade? Virus is one of the most technically skilled djs you will ever meet, with a hell of a music collection to pull from. I think it's phenomenal that HTID has allowed the artists on this side of the pond to gain some recognition over there, because they put so much into it! I thought you were saying that the music was a let down, but I see it was more that you just wanted to see familiar names in a different location. I can't blame you for that, but I hope you realize that all of those people put a lot of time and energy into hardcore over here.

Oh yeah without doubt!

All the people that were on that night i've seen before, with the exception of Sparrow and Maromi i think, which was one of the sets i actually saw as a friend was MCing it. Last year i saw Virus, who played a half decent set, and Flyboy, who again played a half decent set. And i think it was the year before there was a Project USA night where Rize played, and possibly Ian K and a few others. And i'd already seen Dynamic earlier in the week upstairs again as a friend was MCing. Virus and Danger was probably the set i enjoyed the most to be honest, only saw it because a friend was MCing but it was half decent.

I fully appreciate how much work they put in, and that for HTID to book them they are obviously doing something very right! At no point have i said they shouldn't be booked at all. I'm all for variation, and i have nothing against them playing, but spread them out! Have them warm up for other DJ's. The majority of people at HTID in the sun didn't even bother going into the club on the saturday night purely because of who was playing. If there were more familiar names then more people would be there.

The first year after the water park MOB and Dougal played, and i still remember those sets now, absolutely amazing! Last year i distinctly remember Virus playing a half decent set, and then Flyboy being absolutely amazing for about 40 minutes, then 20 minutes of just utter cheese. This year i just couldn't get into the sets at all, 80% of the music i'd never heard before, which is not what in the sun is about.

Like i say, it just feels a little bit like i've been robbed of a night, if you work it out, the club pass works out at about ?25 a night. That night is not something i'd pay that money for. Nothing at all against the DJ's or the music they play, and i fully appreciate what they've done to get where they are, but like i say, just seems a bit of a cop out. There's a lot of people who have a much worse opinion of it than i do as well!

How was the crowd like that night the first year that the waterpark was done? what time did that night at club colossos start and end? and what was the dj roster of that night?

I will say I don't particularly understand why that night was chosen to showcase North America night, but my only thought is that the crowds just didn't get that big enough the first year to have some of the major names play. Last year I thought it was a decent sized crowd throughout the whole night and the ravers were definitely invested.

I know in previous ones they did have a NAHM theme, which was the North American Hardcore Movement, but that has since disbanded I believe. And yes I do remember them playing a bunch of stuff that even I have never heard, but that's one of the things that I loved about that 4-hour night last year. It was definitely refreshing to hear something different as opposed to previous nights where everything sounded very similar. And I think that's part of the fun of it, to have that variety. But yea I agree they should have them spread out throughout the whole week.

I'd really like to see Jimni Cricket there next year. Nothing against some of the other djs, but she is more deserving than a lot of those other NA djs since she's been running a strong hardcore scene in Seattle for over a decade now. And her skills as a DJ are amazing.

Not that I can say anything ITS-related, but I agree with this. I reckon it's important to hear tracks you don't know about. Some of my favourite kind of rave moments are "Oooohhhhh my GOD - what the fcuk is this?!!?!". You know when you hear something that absolutely blows your tits off and you have no idea what it is.

Yeah, nothing i heard that night did that!

It was the water park during the day, so pretty much on it from about 4pm, not the best time to be experiencing new stuff i don't think!

Massive respect to whoever this is, he filmed a good number of sets at this year's HTID ITS. He filmed the last 36 minutes of Sy's set last year as well as Klubfiller's this year, and many others. Currently listening to the video of Gammer's set during his night.

Thanks :) a fair few of the tracks that I dropped are FC to Scarred Digital including a couple of mine!

It was mentioned earlier in a post about no gabber in the main room. I dropped a gabber track as my last track in the main room. Dougals face was priceless, but the crowd went stupid for it lol! Played Catzeyez remix of Jump Around :)

Also last night was a surprise gabber set from a Spanish Dj Dj Rob (I think). I didn't get to hear it as I currently working at the front door but heard he played really well & was a good surprise set in the night!

I really, really dislike him.

I think he is a poor excuse of a DJ, he's just a poor mans Gammer. He makes edits before his sets and then gives the illusion of quick mixing by fading in and out quickly.

I don't particularly love Klubfiller either but it has to be said that Gammer sometimes does the same thing.

EDIT: Just listened to a few snippets from that set and "poor man's Gammer" seems fair enough. That said, however, it's pretty easy to accuse anyone who wants to fit more than, say, 14 tracks into an hour's set of being a Gammer wannabe because double drops and quick cuts are obvious, pragmatic ways to achieve that. I never let any track drop more than once in any of my mixes and I find I gravitate naturally towards that style of mixing to make it happen.

2ND EDIT: Oh dear, Storm. Oh ****ing dear.
