Just curious if there is anyone else here who has been a fan of the whole buying the tape decs, cds, going to events (big or small) etc.
Anyone ever gone off the genre? and all of a sudden get a sense of nostalgia in your head?
I'm feeling this right now and it's shame i sold alot of my favourite compilations without saving the tracks.
I haven't heard anything new since late 2007 when they brought the Bonkers 17 rebooted.
I'm sure in the future i might give it one more shot before i get too old to put the rave boots on.

I preferred the 96ish remix to the original.
*edit*
Baby Doc remix! 1997!

I think I'm in that process right now. Labels don't release mixed CDs anymore; it's all about unmixed releases now, which is lame. There's too many independent labels now, and I hate having to shift through the crap to find something I like, which in itself is becoming harder and harder with Hardcore being all about experimenting with other genres' sounds with no retention of its own sound except for the tempo. I would hate to think, "Gone are the days of Lisa Abbott's vocals laid out over a raw/bouncy beat".
I hope Hardcore Underground vol.6 is able to deliver some cheesy/happy songs. If the album itself is more breaks/electro/freeform, or just simply UK Hardcore with a bland, washed and rinsed heavy on the male vocal sound, then ya..I'm just pretty much done with this era of Hardcore music and will continue to listen to the 90s and mid 2000s stuff.

Yes, I had like a 6 year hiatus, and then I came back all old and grumpy...
As an all genre music lover, I say Hardcore, you always go back, always!

Been there, done that.
Had a sort of enforced period away but soon found my way back. Things need to get better soon or I'll be off again!

Well if things weren't bad enough in the last 5 years then it doesn't look like you'll be going anywhere. Things have been improving for some time!

Welcome to my world! When Hardcore died over here back in 1996/97 I switched to Trance pretty easily although it vanished in my area at the same time as well. In 2004 Trance became boring, too and I became musical homeless and started to listen to old-school Eurodance and Happy Hardcore until 2008 I found DJ Ravine and slowly got in touch to the UK-scene.

Well I supported Symphonic Metal back in 2004 for a short time, but I have never lost the touch to electronic music. And even today I like it! Hardcore is the Metal genre of electronic music!
