Smashed it at HTIDITS to be honest. I love his mixes, great selection of tunes old and new. Not the best technically but I enjoy them a lot more than a fair few others because he plays better tunes.

I remember Kaos being pretty shocking in the Future Dance days, think he was ****ed half the time. Still enjoyed his sets mind as I loved the darker stuff he was knocking out at the time and only he played it.

You've clearly never heard a DJ Kaos mix. It never bothered me personally, both play/played great music

Not only me that thought it then. :P

I agree, a bit of clanging is better than terrible tunes.

Vibes isn't the best technically by a long way, his timing is pretty bad but what he does is play good tunes with loads of energy. He's a great DJ to see live and a nice guy too.

I have never once listened to a mix from him and thought the mixing could be better. So for me not even approaching being an issue.

How the **** has he had a career for like over 20 bloody years?

And he still plays the same set over and over, you'd think playing the same 20 tunes over a 20 year period he would of figured out how to master the art of mixing those same tunes with perfection.....

What a first class tit you are!!!!!

Vibes is 1 of the main reasons there is happy hardcore, his mixing style is loved by many.

The reason he is still going for 20 years as you say is because people like his style, genuine character and he still pulls crowds!

Yeah, he's a terrible DJ.

I don't know what half the people in this thread are smoking but **** this rose-tinted spectacle ********, he's technically awful. Trainwrecked almost every transition in almost every set I've ever heard of his.

Apologies in advance for looking at it realistically but if you genuinely believe Vibes is a good DJ then you're either deaf or, far more likely, you've just been heavily tainted by reminiscence.

Agree with Ellliott, some of these comments are unreal. Whilst selection is a big thing, the music that vibes plays could easily be played by somebody else where they do a much better job of mixing them (some may say they could even harmonically mix the tracks respective of their key). You can't say a DJ is great because they're a "top bloke"; it's got nothing to do with staqe performance and is ridiculous!

Call me odd but personally i believe that a performance is enhanced by proper mixing and decent technical ability behind the decks, none of this "A few dodgy mixes here and there" BS, if your booked to play then do your job properly and well; there's plenty more who will if your not up-to game!

Haha so true. Great tunes, not always the greatest mixing. But you can get away with that when you write killer tracks. Not every producer is an incredible dj, but the fans still love it based on track selection. At least the 'shoes in a dryer' mixes happen much less with digital mixing now days.

Time of the month Elliott?

I stand by what i said. Some of my favourite ever sets are by Vibes, and while the nostalgia/reminiscence factor may be high and my memories blurry, i have the tape packs to listen back to. THAT doesn't lie.

funny, hearing all the sets steridge or what the username was has been posting about ID's lately, I cant say I can hear one bad transition. And most of them where from Vibes sets.

This is also not the first topic we have had on Vibes mixing, or Anabolic Frolic's for that matter. Listening to H2bH (or my older mixes :P) nowadays is a pain when you can't remember it sounded so bad. Granted, tracklist made it enyoajble still

My hormones are raging!

I think we're all gonna have to agree to disagree on this one because I don't think any of us are going to budge.
