A lot as like I said I used I be a massive fan as a kid.... That was until I actually started to enjoy mixes and starting listening to the actual mix itself

One Direction are not the best singers but their songs are catchy.

Does the same apply?

that seems to be for me more of a problem that you know already the tunes and stop listening to them and now you are listening his sets in and out for "mistakes". if you look for some, you will find some. surprisingly the same goes for EVERY DJ. and the more you listen the more "mistakes" you will find. soon you reach a point where your brain beats your ears and claims mistake after mistake where probably in reality there is no mistake at all.

I've never heard play a really bad set, last time I saw him play at Dreamscape he smashed it. No dodgy mixes and strayed away from the usual anthems. was a cracking set.
He's technically not the greatest dj, but he's one hell of an entertainer, always fun to watch behind the decks. Probably brings the crowds energy level up more than a technically perfect 3 deck wizard who just stands behind the decks.

I agree, myself and Mortis watched him @Horizon, Birkenhead back in 2008/2009. He is brilliant behind the decks was acknowledging everyone, full of energy and just a genuine nice guy
Everyone in the club was bouncing along to the tune's he played

just as much as you going around talking about the mixing itself only. A DJ is not meant to mix together tracks. He's meant to entertain the listeners by trackselection. That is atleast the old definition of a Disc Jockey.

He's not the best mixer but to be fair to vibes I've heard him do a few faultless mixes as well (I've got one from compulsion).
also having seen him live a few times I put his odd clanger down to talking and shaking hands with drugged up/wasted peeps every few minutes.
