He should easily hands down win the worst DJ in hardcore hands down!

How the **** has he had a career for like over 20 bloody years?

And he still plays the same set over and over, you'd think playing the same 20 tunes over a 20 year period he would of figured out how to master the art of mixing those same tunes with perfection.....

he may not be the best at mixing but he is by no means the worst out there, Anabolic Frolic & Daz Willott spring to mind & win that award imo. regardless i always liked his sets cuz he would play bouncy techno, breakbeats & happy hardcore in the same set & tunes that no one else ever played so his sets are always unexpected & different

A few dodgy mixes here and there, sure, but if anything it proves one thing - you don't need to be Grandmaster Flash to be a great DJ. Easily one of the most loved DJs in the hardcore scene (by the older ones especially). A thoroughly nice bloke too, and I won't have a bad word said against him. I listen to a Vibes set nearly every day and have done for years, one of the reasons I got into hardcore and stayed into it was this man.

+1

Yes he plays good oldskool happy hardcore but anyone can do that! His mixing and transitions are absolutely shocking even to this day in 2013

theres quite a few DJ Vibes' actually (mainly in other styles of music). btw he wasnt the first rave DJ to use the name: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Original+DJ+Vibes the first (& original) DJ Vibes was one half of Rock & Vibes who used to play at In-ter-dance at Sterns aswel as various other places

I've spoken to him a few times before he's about to step up and done sets at events after him.....He is always having it proper....And he might at some point be a bit worse for wear...I have been on plenty occasions including live on air........I've got a fair few mixes by Vibes from the past years and the mixing is all good to my ears.....There are plenty of "Big Name" Dj's about that are a bit ignorant and their mixing and selection is a bit crap but....I don't know the setup that everyone mixes on...Trust me...When you are on a sub-standard setup it cripples you as a DJ.....Vibes loves it and sometimes might forget he has to mix...I've done and do the same......He's made some classic tracks over the years that have inspired a load of people to buy and mix his tunes and make music......Don't think it's good to wak a post up saying he's the worst DJ tho......This post will get a negative response I know...But....Credit where it's due......He aint the "Worst DJ"....He's on the level....
This is a simple response btw...I have no time for ******** pussy keyboard fights.

Thankyou.

totally agree with all of that & the bit about setups i second. iv played on some shocking setups for example collapsed tone arms & covered in mold, 45 rpm button not working, tone arm weight missing, cue not working on mixer, amp cutting out, speakers popping, pitch that far out & in need of being recapalibrated that you cant mix tunes that you should be able to, no monitors & nearest speakers being nowhere near you. anyone who says they would be able to play perfectly with shyte like that is either god or chatting shit
