You do not go out and sell your product out of your trunk mind you, you trust that your label will have DISTRIBUTION . Now to that point, the distributors then put the product in varied places where music sales are generated. The only reason why you even find hardcore at your local shops is because enough people either requested it, or the shop owner has put it there.

I know some of the artists on this forum, and they work their asses off to A. Produce music B. Promote music and C. Reap the rewards of their work. I for one see no problems with commercialising hardcore, nor do I see a problem with selling hardcore cd's in well known department stores.

I remember one time when I was at a Hot Topic retail store, I saw Stealth's "Flower Needs the Rain" and Hixxy's & MC Storm's "Just Accept It" Now mind you that this store is a Commercial Idea of how Punk Rockers and Vampires and Ravers should dress. Do you know what I did with those records on the shelf? I bought the motherfuc*ers! There was no second thought about it because I wanted hardcore now!

Elitist idea of why hardcore can't be available to the mainstream is pretty lame.

Like what Sam and Sean said, Pay the artists, Let hardcore grow

Give that man a Beer!

Actually, I will

The next time you come to Australia BobbyRitalin, I'm buying you some of this!

Dude, wtf. Grow up. Hardcore artists need money to make more tunes, and how do they get that money? Thats right, by selling their cds. And where do they sell these cds? In shops! That isnt too hard for you to grasp is it? Tune -> Store -> Album Bought -> Artist gets money -> Tune -> Store...

well i used to work in a virgin megastore and we heard that the reason tesco, asda, woolies ect..sell there cds dvds 1p 5p 10p cheaper than the real music stores..virgin,hmv ect is coz they make so much profit a year selling other products like books, milk, coffee, alcohol ect that they can afford to sell cds dvds cheaper than everyone else and as a company and the end of the month/year they still make a profit as a hole fly f**kers..

brown- keepin`er hardcore since 94

I agree with so many people in this, although it would be nice for more small record shops to pop up...the fact that hardcore is going through these big companies (as everyone else has been saying) more people will be exposed to it.

Basically this whole rant was ridiculous, don't get to worked up guys!

TAUNTON!!! Ha. I ended up in Taunton the other day... and i live in blackpool... f00kin miles away. what the hell was i doin.

Anyway...

Things like the selling of hardcore in Asda n stuff dont really bother me, its quite the opposite. A hell of alot of people slate hardcore for what it is (or what they think it is) and now these retards are selling it in there shops. They lose. We win.

I agree with you on that mate, but it's a totally different point he's brought up here.

Arguably one of the best

Yes sorry bit off topic guess I didn’t read the post properly lol. To those people who say they don’t have an independent shop near them there is a reason and superstores are that reason! Might not bother many other people that this is happening but as my family have owned an independent record shop for 30 odd years (which has gradually gone down hill over the last 8-10 years due to superstores taking away a bulk of the business!) it does bother me.

Anyway as DMS said a totally different point so I wont continue my rant ;)

Yeah I am one of the ones who posted that we don't have a local independant store but when we did (Falcon Records in Weymouth and Poole) I and my friends used to frequent it often, always used to order oddities from there and I remember always being able to get hold of tape packs from there as well but then it suddenly closed down and a HMV opened in Poole instead

Yeah its a shame because its those kinda shops that keep the less mainstream music on the high street otherwise there will be no shops to purchase music from that sell anything but the top 30 cd's. I don't blame bonkers or any distributor for this though as it is not there fault they are just doing what they gotta do like everyone else does its jus one of those things i guess.

Its funny really cus if things keep up there will only be one company selling everything, they will employ everyone, own everything and sell everything to everyone controllin everything they listen to eat etc. therefor turning us into a communist state owned by a company will it not?
