From your view, Rygor and freinds (lol), do you think the same thing of the Gabber/Dutch Hardcore scene? Or are you even a part of that? I'm really getting into gabber lately :) Gabber and cheesy oldschool, lol. Also makina... Yeah, you know, I see what your saying. Upfront isn't doing it for me as much.

i agree with whats been said, i am relativley new to the scene (3 years), i still love hardcore and its really all i listen to, love the energy and the fast pace of it, cant listen to other dance music anymore it just seems to slow.
On the other hand i feel as though of late i am going through a new album a week, i have allready put down bonkers 14 and am looking on for something new, the tunes are still awesome just dont seem to have a long lasting appeal like they used to.
Im gonna stick with the scene, im in way to deep to stop now :).

try dj'ing the records. it has a different appeal than just listening to them. Or, bring your production skills to America where our hardcore scene is still underground in a very good way.

Just becasue....
The speed, energy, the power and the moments it makes your life happy. I like Trance, House, Whatever els but for me I LOVE hardcore and I truly do not know why. It just gets me. I want to do everything in my power to make it and play it out. Get the word out to people. It's disapointing whenever I see someone that has a doubt about hardcore in general. It makes me wonder a few things.
Do you not like the SCENE or the music...
What about it arnt you feelin anymore...
And what would you want to do to change it...
I myself see the hardcore scene having problems in the future due to the lack of love for the music itself and for the artist that make it. If people keep sharing files illegaly the scene will be impacted prolly faitaly. Thats just my opinion.
I really hope you guys find the love in hardcore again that I have always had. Listen to the music, enjoy it and dont worry about anything els. If there is somthing you want to change about it or do, then do it! :) We have the power to do so!

pump tha selectah!
What I can say is, Gabber is one of my main genres right now =)
The energy, the bouncy beats, mind-emptying feeling (kind of an stress-relief), the feeling of just jumping to the beats and having the hands in the air (with alot of other people doing the same thing). Also what I like about gabber is the evil thing it has in it .
The UK Hardcore is a veery good genre if someone needs uplifting music. One good example of track giving energy and good mood: Sy & Unknown - I feel on fire
I'm not into old school on the other hand...

music is a passion in life, just happens that hardcore is the main area of that love
it lifts me when im down and gets me pumped up with im in a psycho mood.
People go thu music cycles, Its life
Too many people out there try to push down labels/style of hardcore, even I feel a bit down now and again over it, I remember in 2003. The "elites" moaned about ppl whoring evo in sets, now the "elites" are moaning over cheese and wanting everyone to make freeform.
Kinda takes the fun out of it all, which I try to make everything into, even my dodgy rankin remix was fun with its mock name and all.
People need to enjoy themselves and relax, too many destructive people.
As for the boat going down, I dont believe changing will help the fame, you still need to make a anthem to get known and other small labels in different styles are suffering low sales. Heck nukleuz suddenly supported hardcore when its sales were suposably were down and there one of the biggest mainstream labels.
As to your question on a producing level, I believe only you can answer that. There are different roads you could travel, you seem to have a eye at the moment on Djing, which is good.
you could just look at what the other Dj's have done, brisk and ham with Stimulant DJ, is a huge achivement by them.
Anything can happen.

I agree with Swansea247's answer... why not? (Brian: )
I don't tend to look at music in terms of genres, only the scenes I look at in terms of "genres". Alot of people I hear saying theres only 2 sorts of music, good music and bad music. I also disagree with this 100%. There'll always be someone who likes a tune, even if you don't, so I think of it as 2 sorts of music. Music I like, and Music I don't like. what am I trying to say? No idea!!! I guess, stay true to yourself, don't get bogged down in "this is hardcore music I'm making" coz when it all comes down to it, it should be "Ryg0r music" or "The Acolyte music" your making, not hardcore music. Stay true to yourself, make music your happy with, even if no-one else likes it. When I'm feeling low about the stuff I'm (trying) to make I always look to acts like The CLSM. They make their own style of music. Because it has been embraced by the hardcore scene it has been classed as Hardcore, the same with Luna C and the KFA crew. When it all comes down to it, what is hardcore? Is it anything with a 4/4 kick drum above 165bpm? how do you explain old skool hardcore then which is much slower and often break led? Hardcore is a scene, and whatever that group of people embrace as "good music" is hardcore in my book, so my view is don't make hardcore, make Ryg0r music, or MJ Dream music, or Underloop music.
Philosophy lesson over

Why hardcore you ask? Why anythin' else?
What other music can give you shivers down your spine? what other music can make multi-cultural harmony like hardcore?
Someone said it before i think, but the real question to ask yourself really is why the hell not

I love hardcore always have done, ok so i had a chnge of music
around 1999-2001 i went thru a phase of listenin to trance went out and Bought cd's like 'Godskitchen','Gatecrasher' and 'Euphoria i still have then collectin dust in a box, but i came back to Hardcore my ex havin bought me at the time Bonkers 9 and it started me of again. Have bought each new 'Bonkers' released from then and like some of the new stuff produced although have to skip tracks when it comes to 'Gabber' its to hard for me. Now and then because i have the older end of 'Bonkers' i play them and like Eddiewould said,
'I to like listening to the tunes of that time 1998/99 because of tunes like 'Toytown' 'Discoland' 'Steamtrain' cos they were fun then and i like reminising about the old days.
Hardcore to me is better than any anti depressant like i have said before in previous posts 'It lifts me when am down' my kids even love it so it's Hardcore all the way for me.

because there is always room for improvement, we need people like you Rygor who are willing to inject a bit of spark into the scene every now and again, to releave us off all the vanguard whore's and formulated hardcore that soooooooooo many people get stuck making..
technically life is a sinking ship, everyone kicks the bucket eventually - but that doesnt stop us from all pushing on and doing what we enjoy doing.
back to what you were saying about getting your name out in such a tight knit scene, i think there are two ways of going about it...
theres an honest way, and a dishonest way..
the honest way is the hardest way...
the dishonest way is piss easy - and involves a load of conning, hype and stepping on the shoulders of other people
personally from hearing your stuff rygor i think you have genuine talent, and i dont want to see you waste it, cause i really appreciate your music and think you should carry on keeping it hardcore.
just cause you do hardcore doesnt stop you from dabbleing in another genres...perhaps other genres that you think would bring you better luck.
like i said though, ive heard your music and i think you should stick with it :)
