i remember catching a few glimpses of a documentary on string theory, its enthralling stuff altho i doubt it was as basic as they made it out to be lol

I dont believe in a God as a creater at all. I think to just say that everything was created by a God is too easy of an explanation and in fact if you rely on God being a creater then you also have to ask who created God? So using god to explain everthing doesnt explain anything.

I've got no idea how the universe was created or if it has always been here but I'm happy to admit that I dont know (and that no1 else knows either - yet) rather than just create a story about god and pretend to know.

I saw something about string theory and my head nearly exploded , even just trying to think about the universe is really confusing. I think that 1 day we'll know but i dont know when .......

Read up on string theory if you havn't already, very interesting.

Time does exist, it's a part of the space-time continuum, both time and space can be bent or warped by a large mass, and that's what creates gravity.

I don't think any of you's are taking into account what i said...

Science, Space and Time... all of this is irrellivent when discussing 'Gods'...

If a God exists then there is a whole load of 'science' unknown to man, because according to the science we know about its impossible for some being to create a universe. The 'science' that surrounds God can make the impossible (that is, impossible to the standards of science us humans know of) possible.

Science, space and time are all creations of 'God' (if they exist), and therefore you cannot prove he/she/it doesn't exist using these topics.

It's quite hard to explain what i've got going down in my head but i hope you've got the jist of it

Obviously time exists if your talking about a measurement of say what it takes something to get from somewhere to somewhere else yes, it's not quite what I meant... Forget I said it I'll never be able to explain it :P

"both time and space can be bent or warped by a large mass, and that's what creates gravity"

So what creates varying strengths in gravitational pull? It's obviously not too do solely with mass as a smaller mass can have a bigger pull than one much bigger than it, is it to do with movement or something? I never done this at school I done psychology but it does interest me : ).

God's probably up their laughing at us all now saying "Ha! Look at them all talking about gravity and the space-time continuum and blah blah blah... i invented all that shit. They just don't have a ****ing clue!!"

Or his experiment was to build the universe and were some scum that growing on one of his planets that he doesn't know how to get rid of, a disease of sorts.

Or the universe has been here for a hell of a lot longer than people believe... and God is taking a short holiday for the next billion years...

I do believe in the Big Bang, there is plenty of science supporting this theory, such as cosmic backgroud radiation, red shift blah blah. But as some people have mentionned what caused the Big Bang, which is what really confuses me. Energy theoretically can only be transferred not creating or destroyed (from our current understanding) therefore something had to have created the initial explosion and expansion. What is really hard to comprehend is nothingness. Think of nothing, oh wait i just thought of something so i lose. Its like that stupid game where if u think about it you lose (or somthing gay like that). And time, what is time? Isnt it something that we have tried to quantify? Darnit I always get drawn into these debates and I aslways confuse myself.

I think that you can believe in big bang and still believe in God.

Wu-Hey!!! i love this stuff!

how i see it is:

firstly, multi-verse sub-verse ect ect ... all BS the universise IS the universe, its all of it, any things like that are just a part of it.

there are fundamental rules, that simply "are" cant change em, cant do anything about them, they are the basic building blocks. these rules are simple. they can be used in very very complex ways though.

every being in the universe, is just like the rules, always have existed always will exist, our state f existance may change depeing n the other rules, and how they are implemented, wether by ourselves, or someone else.

as for god, all beings, are at a fundamental level, a form of intelligence - we observe, process and conclude. every being has varying degres of "intelligence" look at it like different intensites of light, theres a max, and a minimum (none) but infinite veriables inbetween.. GOD is the max. he has to exist. not possable for him not to.

i just prooved god exists [:P] - by at least one deffinition, though supreme being would be this, as maximum intelligence, leads to no mistakes ever, perfect understanding of all things observed, an the ability, because of this, to use all the rules of the universe in as complex way as GOD feels to do so.
BUT
GOD is still within the "confines of the "universe"

we are just less "bright" and god has plans for us, he is kind, and knows all - we dont, yet.

we have potential, as long as we can learn, we can become more like god, science isnt the only thing to learn, remember, we are our own rules, and need to understand our selves aswell.

and finally, GOD is creative, creative = GOOD
satan = Destructive, thats bad.

all things goo and evil are definable in the creation/destruction of something.

Balance is a key fundamental element of existance too.

so in short, thats what i think
