Average performance from England (yet again), Lennon and Terry played fantastic though.
Everyone get behind England to not loose against Sweden, a draw or win is fine and we top the group, and here are the advantages if we top the group.
- Each game we will play from then on will all be at 8pm, thus resulting in us not playing in the humidity of the other 4pm games.
- We'll probably play Equador, and i'd rather avoid Germany and play Equador.
- Probable route to the final will be harder if we come second place.
COME ON ENGLAND we need to win this group for the long run.

If we win the group there could be only one game we would play at 8pm and that would be the final!

Both semi final matchs are at 8pm BST so that would be two matches

england should of lost that game, they played horrible. all they did most of the game was play it to the wing and tridads' defence stuffed them everytime.

I guess beckam is still useful =P

if they play against larger teams like they did today I think they're going home early.

I disagree, if we play like that against good teams we'll probably have more luck than we did today, theonly reason T&T held out for so long was because they had about 10 men behind the ball... better teams won't play like that, it will be more open and we have a strong enough defence to cope with them.

Agreed England can play alot better, but the lift Rooney brought was great. Like the T&T coach said once we had scored once the second didn't suprise him at all, I'm watching it again now and we really did create loads of chances.

The Sweden game should be interesting, they play alot more open and Rooney should be playing, didn't seem to have lost much of his sharpness, maybe a little pace though unlike Lennon, he is useful. For once Svens substitutes were spot on, can't wait for Tuesday against Sweden, should be a good match me thinks :D

Well it's nice to know Clarke's glass is half empty...

We did play really sh*t to be honest, although Jenks does have a point. T&T played all 11 men behind the ball for pretty much the whole game, they only had 3 players in the box for a few corners, and only attacked on counter-attacks.
If we continue to play like we did, we don't deserve to win. Fact. We need to stop playing Crouch and using the Long Ball tactic because 1) it doesn't work, and 2) it's sh*t
When Rooney came on, our whole team came to life, and for the last half an hour we actually looked like England. We passed the ball around quickly, kept it on the floor, and made some good chances with through balls. Granted, the first goal did come from a cross, but it only took Crouch about twenty attempts to actually get it on target!
We need to play like we did in the last half an hour if we want to stand a chance against Germany (if we get them) because they'll punish us if we play crap.

All that said, another cracking goal from Steevie Gerrard!

P.S. Whittle, can i use your avatar until the World Cup finishes pleeeeeease?

they had several chances from set plays, hell there was even one time they got to take a free kick over and couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

yes england did win, but the first half was horrible. the score should of been 6-0 with the amount of chances they had. rooney should of come in earlier and worked the ball up the middle.

credit to t&t, I thought they put up a good fight and played tactically better...even it was mainly defensively.

also credit to the subs as they made the game more interesting =P

so what if the US doesn't make it out of the group, if they do sure I'll be happy but it's a group of death =P

Argentina where outstanding today. They had a goal disallowed for offside that should have been given and they should have had a penalty as well.

Must be a hard job being their coach you have won the game then send Tevez and Messi to have a run out and keep Saviola and Crespo on their game.

Looks like a few teams might be starting to gain momentum now....

Holland were poor earlier though.
