I've noticed quite a few people unhappy with alot of the new hardcore productions at the moment and albums etc. But one guy who's really pushing things foward in the scene is Recon. Was one of the first to introduce the harder more driving basslines in hardcore which the whole raver baby crew have seemed to follow ever since. Also most of the best and most cutting edge tunes on the latest Clubland Extreme Hardcore are by Re-con. The dudes pushing things foward with Electo, House and Drum N Bass influences. Hardcore should'nt just be about trance riffs it's so much more than that.
Also thin N Crispys is exciting as well as Notorious with Marc Smith. AMS trying something new too. So yeah hats off to the guys who have the balls to try something new.
Let us know your thoughts:)

First to use harder bassline? you must be joking? I'm pretty sure the basslines where HARD back in the 1994-1999 aswell... But I presume you mean the sound brittish Hardcore had have since 2001, but he's still not the first to use them (I'm pretty sure DJ UFO used hard bassline aswell)

For me Re-Con was one of the guys I looked forward to hearing his new tunes but since Bonkers 16 I don't think I've been interested in any of his productions.

I think there are better more talented producers around who are trying new things and pushing new sounds and styles.

Re-con is pushing hardcore backwards to a more clubby sound. Awful... I dunno why doesn't he produce tracks he used to, like Bang 9 or Baby I know you're mine.

It all went down-hill for him after 'to the bassline'
He started using even more pots and pans HA!
His earlier work i was very impressed with though, so i'm not just jumping on the bandwagon and slagging the guy off.

That was the track that ruined his work for me too - hence the bonkers 16 comment. Was such a bad track.

Report To The Bassline that track has to be worse one I've heard.

Ditto.

His most recent stuff is blatantly boring. Just listen to "Save The Rave" - HORRIBLE! "Beating Of A Drum" - crap. "Pull Over" - meeeh.

I used to love his stuff.

Save The Rave, Beating Of The Drum and Pull Over don't like them either and the same can be said about his remixes from CLXH3.

ReCon is doing very well!

Styles and Breeze aren't so, i'd call their stuff popcore or chartcore or sumthin!

Bring on the Freeform Era!
