I never lie about it, Im proud to be hardcore. I say that I listen to hardcore, freeform and gabber. Fair enough, freeform is a branch of hardcore, but its that good it deserves a seperate mention :p

its not such a hard concept to grasp lol - it'll probably slowly change over time..its just educating the masses

If I know they are not into dance music at all I might say hard dance to them so that they understand it's not porn music haha

I tell people i listen to happy hardcore some are like oh not all that noise music full of bass lines and i say yes cos its good especially the old skool style.

Never. I tell em what i listen to then of course have to explain what the hell it is, then when they finally realise they give me the old "you'd have to be on acid to listen to all that stuff". Pfftt you just be quiet and scuttle on back to your wonderful R&B flower.

Im into all styles of music. I tell most people im into and produce electronica. But i sometimes say hardcore which normally gets a polite laugh which is fine cos hardcore imo is about havin a laugh and having fun and any musical style shudnt be taken too seriously. Its there to be enjoyed. However if people deep down are thinkin 'hardcore? Wtf who is this guy?' its there problem int it and theyve got a closed mind and probably have some deep hidden secret that makes them more messed up than the rest of us. Live hardcore and love it. Ha ha what the hell

i just say i listen to ARDCORE & GABBER and if they dont like it then they're missing out, most people dont even know what hardcore really is anyway, you dont need to change ur public oppinions to fit in with others, thats ******** lol

Nope, I just tell it as it is.
What does really grate on me though, is if I say "Hardcore" they will reply with something like, "Oh, like Scooter or Cascada?". This usually leads to a 5 minute explicit rant where I'll explain exactly why they are wrong. There is nothing worse than people out there who claim they are "total hardcore", yet cite chart dross like Cascada or Basshunter among their favorites.
