I honestly think I am going to start saying Happy Hardcore, whether its 90's style of 2000's just to deviate away from the rock comments.
in the 90s most hardcore out of holland was called hardcore techno or gabber here and by the people I knew overseas
just learn to deal with it...everyone here is going to say techno when they mean edm unless they are actually in the know and like richie hawtin =P

When people ask me, I say happy hardcore.
About 99.9% of the time, they ask me what it is.
I just laugh and explain how amazing it is.

all my heavy metal freinds all ways thinks that hardcore is like metal, it gets lame sometimes
yup pretty much the whole world seems to think that hardcore = rock/heavy metal these days -.- buncha nobheads >.> a well..
well, I dont think we can say what is the true hardcore. i think "hardcore" just means something xtreme, the hardcore we love here would be the "hardcore eletronic dance", or extreme dance, which involve hhc, gabber, speedcore, freeform, etc
and the other hardcore known as "metal hardcore" which descends from death metal, and include metalcore, grindcore, noisecore, I found something about mathcore??? whatever...
there's also hardcore punk, hardcore rap, hardcore hiphop... and I'm sure there are a lot more... "hardcore bite me" or what ever
maybe the "hardcore" word has become just like an adjetive for genres, same as "progressive", now days everything that people dont know how to call it, its "PROGRESSIVE"
so we migth hear stuff like "progressive hardcore bite me"

Most of the people who ask me have no clue what happy hardcore or hardcore is, so I just say "techno", which is what mass media has told them to call EDM. If they do know what they're talking about, yes I do say I listen to hardcore.

i can actually go weeks without someone blindly asking me what type of music i listen to though.
i also don't feel the need to explain my tastes to other people, so if they want to know i just tell them, and if they want explanation i just simply tell them that they won't like it.
i can actually say that a stranger has never asked me what type of music i listen to.
most people i meet either can tell right away that i'm a dj simply because i have the tidy trax logo tattooed on my neck and that is a fukcing no brainer.

i thought about doing that back in 2000
i didnt get it done - and still dont have any tatoos
dont think i want a tat to be honest..
the fact i dont have one is what says somthing about me individually.
ive always loved the tidy logo...how damn clever of them to twist on the original logo
(http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=keep+britain+tidy+logo&meta=) what could possibly have been a better logo to do it to with all the slogans that came with it, i mean, its all on packaging that you throw away in england lol and the slogans they can steal..."keep britain tidy" how right :)

I usually to say hardcore, but people just think I'm weird and ask me what that is. And I use to tell them, trance/danceish and they are satisfied.
