I just heard that Ultrabeat ( The fannys that remixd Pretty Green Eyes ) are gonna be remixing the classic "Pacific Sun". Now to me this is so dissapointing as they made a mess of Pretty Green Eyes lets hope they dont destroy this. Why o Why

It's not the fact that there is a remix that's getting on my nerves, well it does a bit...there isn't gonna be any F&S tunes that havent had a pop release soon!!! It's the fact that Ultrabeat, well one of the 2 guys at least is a lyer and doesn't give a damn about the hardcore scene, and that did affect/upset me when he told me this stuff.

I liked the Hixxy mix on Bonkers X of the UltraBeat track... I dont think it's a problem, will just show more people that hardcore artists know how to write tunes that stand the test of time :)

The amount of covers tells how good an artist is... So if we have quality artists like Force & Styles, there will be covers... Think about it, theres a cover from all classic tunes... how many covers have been made from "Forever young"?
...but of course i would prefer a better artist doing the covers, i myself like very much the groove coverage stuff...

People like that doesnt deserve the right to make a cover, i think the cover should be a fan thing a tribute to the original artist...

It seems to me that people should stop looking at F & F and Ultrabeat as the demons here... The fact that F & S would license their tracks to people who don't care for the hardcore tells me that they don't really care for the scene that much either. It's not like these trance versions are bootlegs or anything like that.
Some of these artists that a lot of you hold up on a pedestal are selling out your scene. I mean, stop and think about it.

How bizarre.... it missed off half my post.... is this what happened in that thread about connecting a CD player to a mixer????? Anyways, here is my post ressurected from the dead... fingers crossed......
It wasn't the remix that got me with "Pretty Green Eyes" it was just the vocals..... they didn't even come close to Junior's performance..... teh remix itself was ok IMO.
All I can hope is that either the bloke improves for "Pacific Sun" or its more suited to his voice..... or they just get some other bugger to sing it lol
As for the whole respecting hardcore thing, just coz he messed up on "Pretty Green Eyes" doesn't mean he doesn't respect hardcore..... I reckon most people on here respect hardcore (if you don't then what the hell are you doing here???) and its pretty much guaranteed that you have at one point or another sang along with a Force & Styles song, or even just sung it to yourself..... now how many can claim to have a voice that would do justice to it??? Does it mean you don't respect the song? Or does it mean that you think it is a great song and want to sing it?
As for Force & Styles not respecting Hardcore I gotta say I can't think of many people who respet Hardcore more!!! As far as I am aware, F&S have their songs looked after by the PRS (in a similar manner to 90% of songwriters in the UK), in which case all you have to do is go along to the PRS and say "Hello, we would like to cover this song by this artist" and they say "OK, and we shall give all the money that we collect to the artist".... F&S possibly weren't even consulted!
Sorry if this is a bit of a rant on my part, but it really ****es me off when people get dissed unfairly

Which is exactly my point. Whoring a song out like that (letting other people control the rights to it and do whatever they want as long as you get paid) is disrespecting the artform and selling out. And if F & S are involved in the process of allowing these crap versions to be made, then it's even worse. They've made some of the best hardcore tracks ever, but that doesn't mean you have worship every single thing they do and assume that it's right.
People will try to rationalize this by saying that it turns more people on to hardcore, but since I love my hardcore as much as anyone, I stand by my belief that the people who need this music will find it on their own. To allow watered down versions of hardcore tracks to be made in an attempt to make it acceptable to the masses is like a slap in the face to the people who already love the music for what it is.

If this is true, then why is it that great hardcore tunes by other artists aren't popping up in mass numbers like the F & S tunes? My anwer to this would be that maybe other artists have a little more integrity and would rather keep their tunes special instead of cutting the balls off of them and selling to the highest bidder.
