Hmmm....

I haven't been into HHC UK that long, so there's little about your scene I can talk about.

Talking about the dutch scene, I have to agree that the oldskool ('90 - '98) really has got the best of everything.
At least back then you could actually "dance" to music.
Now a days it's all mindless banging, it still is fine, but after a few hours it kind of begins to bore me... It all sounds the same in the end...

Maybe that's why at raves you will most likely find me in the "oldskool-area".
I just like melodies, with some fine Bass and Beats and even chant with a whole room along with songs.
The feeling always sends nice shivers down my spine

Respect to oldskool-fanatics

is the sharkey and marc smith mix not good dave mate? Wouldnt have expected much from the rest but im thinking about buying it if theres 2 good cd's, you've got very similar tastes to me so what you think?

Reading this has just reminded me i've still not made that nicky modlin tape i promised after new year , sorry man forgot all about it will do it now.

Wait til i've got it done and posted before you send anything but i'd love to hear a back in the day mix off you, catch you soon

Its an ok mix to listen to, i'll probly listen to it again if i want to just chill out but its not really hardcore as i want to listen to, its more just a pure trance mix at hardcore speed (if ya kno what i mean). Its not the generic trance pish that some labels are making now, I mean it is good quality trance but too trancey to be hardcore for my liking. (If that made any sense haha I kno what I mean )

I'd love to here that Nicky Modlin tape like Baldo so if ya do get a chance send it my way , cheers mate!

I'll get a set recorded soon (did a quality 1 before but i didn't record it... doh!) and get it sent of if you want it.

I dont see what the problem is here...
u like the old stuff rite, so listen to it no one is stopping you.

I like the new stuff cause thats what attracted me to the scene, sorry i dont have the cred of raving through the old days and mind you im not 16 either rite now, 24 :D. I heard it was good back then and much respect for it as it was what allowed hardcore to be what it is today.

Also the memories you have attached to the music probably makes it sound that much better than the music now.

BUT what are u gonna do??
Want to make a time machine, cause thats probably about the only chance u have of going back to 95-96

You really want to hear the old stuff at a rave? There are no easy options,
1. You can organize a rave...
2. Become a mad dj and reintroduce it..
3. well thats about it unless you can come up with better ideas

I mean people complain about the problem but offer no solutions, if they were serious about lack of oldskool they would do something about it. In the end its like a problem everyone has, they want to go back to a time because it was better. Me i would love to go back to my high school days, but i cant, so instead i move on..

AND RAVE!!!!!!!!!

In the end as guys said before time moves on and u have to make the most of whatever u got, and have u forgotten as change comes in maybe in the next few years they will incorporate or reintroduce more of the old stuff. There is still a chance of that happening, all you have to do is wait and enjoy the present.

And thank you Nesa for your words,
but people will do what they want,
I mostly ignore it now.

So all you hardcore haters can suck it

Spot on!

To what nesa said. - I,personally, don't think we have a shortage of old-skool raves, If people don't look for them-they'll not be found.

I've only ever booked weekends off work to go to old-skool raves and never to the more recent stuff though.
