Best performance from England so far in this World Cup, still not at there best, but showing promising signs of improvement. Lennon did fantastic in the last few minutes, held the ball up really well. He's so confident, and a future world cup star.

^^ I'll be really suprised if we beat Portugal (if we have them in the quarter-finals).
The key to success is having both a great manager and great players. Portugal certaintly have that with Big Phil, but do England with Sven? I think the Swede talks nonsense most of the time.

I don't think England have a great manager in Sven. Sven doesn't have a clue about football. Rumors in the papers say he might manage Australia when he leaves the England job.

I'm going to stop watching world cups if these refs don't start keeping their damn cards in their pockets...what happened to talking with a player, warning him, then if he does it again, then take appropriate action.

TYPICAL! another Russian ref helping out England! think its a typical name on the trophy scenario! England are just plodding along playing sh*te but getting all the breaks a long the way!

After seeing the Portugal/Holland match tonight I must admit (for us England fans anyway) that we have got the best draw.
No-great-shakes Portugal next (minus one trick pony C.Ronaldo).
Prefer to play a team thats past its best (rather than get slaughtered by the Dutch!)

16 yellow cards - with 21 fowls I think they said.
That ref was a joke.
Holland deserved better in that game - I think they had 19 shots on goal. why didnt they bring ruud on? A complete waste of talent, leaving him on the bench. It was simple to see Holland lacked nothing creatively but they had no outright goalscorer on the pitch, all they needed was Ruud.
