I don't know why they put kuyt & robben in midfield positions either.
I guess because jan vennegoor of hesselink is a class act, and quality in the air, it makes sense if you haven't managed to score against a team by breaking them down through playing football, you stick a target man on upfront and break from midfield.
Still I thought the ref was awesome
He got himself in the record books and that's all that counts!

I cant believe Ruud wasnt played, its criminal! Kuyt was rubbish, he had a few chances and never managed to score when Ruud would have!
I though it was a brilliant game, then when all the bookings came made it even funnier. To be fair to the ref he had to book alota players to calm the game down, fights were breakin out all ova the place.
Although Englands chances seem better against portugal now, I still think we'll loose to them. England havent really performed at all, and Sven doesnt have the bottle to drop players like Lampard even though hes being playing crap atm and missing loadsa shots. I think Germany or Argentina will win the would cup, both teams have being playin well (with advantage to Germany being at home) and Argentina have some fantasic players to, so far I think messi has been man of the tournament, even though he's mainly bein sub, when he comes on he adds so much pace to the game and has so much skill. Germany v Argentina in the final

On the subject or Ruud Van Nistelrooy, it looke like he's going to be booted out of the Dutch squad now, maybe he won't play in a world cup again. Possibaly not even a major tornament for them. He's had/having troubles at United, again, left out of the team.
Thing is, he's a cracking player, a natural goal scorer. He's scored a hat full at United, yet he's not been included in the squad towards the end of the season. Now the same is happening to him in the Dutch squad aswell.
Maybe one of our United fans can enlighten me as to what the problem is whith him? Does he have an attitude problem that we don't see on the pitch? Thats the only thing I can think of.

He has had two training ground spats with show pony. He allegedly told Ronaldo to run off to his dad(menaing carlos Quiries) Ronaldo started crying his actual dad had just died. Got drop from the next game for that.
Cant remeber the rest

Didnt hear about that, seems harsh if true but if it was in the papers you dont know if it was made up. I am man u fan btw. I just thought hed bein dropped for his attitude or summit, fergie wouldnt take any shit anyway. I recentley read he wanted to sort things out at man u and start playing 1st team again, however if what he said to ronaldo is true how can he keep on playing with him

Thats the only thing I could think of to be honest, you don't just get dropped from your club & country in the same year unless your shite, or an ass. He's not shite, so I'm thinking it must be the later.

That should have nothing to do with it. If i was Ruud i would be telling Ronaldo to cut the 100000000000000 step overs per game a try delivering a decent cross at least once a season. Ronaldo should be much better than he is. How Fergie can let him get away having no end product is shocking.
Anyway back on topic
That was a very harsh penalty for the aussies. Dirty spitter took it well though

Australia were robbed!!!
Granted, I felt that Materazzi shouldn't have been sent off (only yellow in my opinion) but the way Italy won the penalty just left a sick feeling in my throat.
He fell over for God's sake.
In the end Aussies blew their chance. Should have put Italy to the sword in the last 20 mins but they just didn't have anything up front to trouble the defence.

Unlucky maybe, weren't robbed though.
No striker on this earth would pass up the chance of an easy penalty like that.

Agree, no striker would but the ref was no more than 10 yards away and shouldn't have given the penalty in the first place.
So yes, they were robbed.

So the left back should have stayed on his feet
