to be fair tho hardcore has been commercial for quite some time now.

Yeah. I'm fine with some forms of commercial hardcore and I'm glad the core is getting some recognition it deserves but it's just ****ing up more than I'd like. The amount of rather shitty commercialcore lately is huge (commercialcore = VEC beats, beaten-to-death synths, vocals). I'm also seeing less and less hardcore that's doesn't sound like sped-up trance.

possibly, but i dont believe theres any solid demographic evidence of that. and there are half naked women on the front of these things so they probably dont AIM it at that segemnt of the market.

i stopped listening to UK hardcore in 1999 as i find it too much like trance & scouse house.

Not very in touch with kids at the age of 16 are you?

Half naked girls, right in that market.

This thing is in the norm now with people in that age range, and I don't see it stopping. I just hope good 'core keeps getting produced.

AATW used to be ok, especially when I was much younger and they were releasing mainstream dance music, but as I got older my music tastes matured and I hate the direction the whole Clubland scene has gone. I must admit I used to buy the Clubland albums, back then the first 3 or 4 were actually really good, but after No.6 I stopped buying it as the direction the commercial dance scene was heading just didn't appeal to me.

I am unsure about the next Bonkers 18 and how AATW will influence it. There may not be such a radical watering down of Hardcore music as most of us would imagine there to be, Hixxy, Styles, Breeze, Squad E and Re-Con have already contributed enough CD Mixes with HTID and CXTreme 5 and surely Bonkers will continue to promote the freeform, bouncy and gabber sounds.

no joke.

unfortunately in the world of retail and business, theres a thing called brand loyalty. people will stay loyal to what they know, rather then invest in something thats new and might not be what they know or like. bonkers will be new to many people after its 2 year break. that will hinder sales so clubland may have to get it back on track using hixxy and darren style (the bigest names in hardcore) rather than sharkey and scott brown. also, they'd have to turn it into similar music as CXtreme in order to suit as many peoples tastes as possible..

i am in the norm. im only 18 myself.
it appeals to people that age but whether AATW aims to attract people below 16 is another matter.

and thats how hardcore will slowly die. hardcore doesnt have a big enough fanbase to maintain a big enough revenue for All Around The World so they're propbably forced to resort to hard dance and commercial remixes like cascada and basshunter

that appears to be th trend. but what about the hardcore we love?

is it diminishing?
will there be artists producing to keep it alive?
with AATW monopolising this shack, how will they be funded?

makes you wonder what it'll be like in, say, 10 years time.
