I can just see it now... Sharkey & the other possible artists pitching there mixes to the chiefs of AATW, Sharkey blasts some amazing pounding freeform, the other artists blast some proper UK hardcore and some Dutch Gabber. In all honesty I can see them and that guy Steve from AATW shitting themselves. There is no way they will allow that type of music associated with their label, its far too hard. Sure we love it too bits but AATW's audience will not and cannot accept that type of music therefore the only buyers will be the true hardcore heads and those sales alone will not impress the big wigs of AATW.
BTW I lost £14 quid on that piece of shit album Clubland Extreme Hardcore 5, after number 4 I vowed never to buy another one but I did and near shit when I heard the state of some of the tracks, catch your self on lads stop pissing out this rubbish! I find myself moving away from UK Hardcore & fast, even though it was always my least fav genre of hardcore it is starting too sound real poor.

Someone needs to send them an email or make contact them in some way - tell them that they can keep on making their crappy vocal teeny bopper tunes, but to leave Hardcore how it is, especially with Bonkers - if they do a Bonkers 18 which resembles what you're likely to hear from a Clubland Hardcore X-Treme compilation, i will be very very upset!

I hope that does not end up being the case.

well, imo Bonkers already went poop at Bonkers 11 (except for Sharkey's stuff!)... but then my taste in uk hardcore dropped at that point and I found more and more Freeform to listen too. Now, even freeform is started to sound more bouncier (wtf?), so I'm starting to listening to Makina and Japanese stuff.

On another note, how much of the stuff being played on this radio station is, of today, underground? Joey Riot and Dougal & Gammer are like the closest to commercial stuff you can get, without having being marked by with AATW stamp

thats a 'reassuring' way of saying we'll make it good... also meaning they'll make more people like it by changing its style probably..

Bonkers != Resist. Bonkers was highly successful. Resist went under because of poor business decisions and voodoo accounting, and Bonkers had nothing to do with it. In fact I'd be inclined to believe that Bonkers actually served to delay the inevitable.

This caught my eye. I think it's unfair to call yourself a true raver because you don't listen to commercial hardcore and call those who do "untrue" ravers.

Desired tastes? Now, I don't rave (so I'm no raver, but I love the music to death), but I like 50-75% of what AATW gives us and yet, I still love me some old skool happy hardcore, gabber and freeform just as much as I like Clubland. And as far as I know, Clubland X-Treme Hardcore and Darren Styles are top of the hardcore charts so yet again - desired tastes? YOUR desired tastes, but not the majority. :)

i think DJ Silver posted a response to this some time ago. He said what brought Resist under was a bad promotion deal from 1 of their extremely unsuccessful compilations. which one it was, i don't know but it wasn't Bonkers that I know.

i was waiting for someone to pick up on that - it did seem a little big-headed to use the term "true-raver"...seems to me to be either a perception or a mis-conception

or maybe both

i say 'true-rave' because it was the only term i could think of..

..a dn we've been on the scene long before AATW has. they've introduced all these new so-called ravers with the dancey hardcore stuff into the scene. basically, we're the ones who know the music we like from before AATW. We're the one who were here and werent drafted in thanks to AATW's clubland mess of a cd..

Some people need to open their eyes and ears and realise the world doesn't revolve around a tiny online community. When it comes to hardcore diversity, I think like you Quicksilver. I listen to Clubland just as much as I listen to Bonkers, Hardcore Nation, Hardcore Addiction and all the rest. And it's all hardcore anyways, nothing more than cheezy rave music. I still love it, but i think some people take it too seriously.

Yes you guys are correct React / Resist went bankrupt from a few other compilations it had bad sales on, it was 100% nothing to do with Bonkers sales.

AATW would be crazy to stop Bonkers, I know this because more people know the Bonkers brand than clubland, I can see the top search results on this site, and Bonkers 18 or Bonkers is nearly ALWAYS in the top 5 search terms, even higher than artist names.

Sharkey is on Bonkers, I know Fracus, Darwin, CLSM and a few others have been submitting stuff, Sharkey will deliver for the non clubland hardcore fans, I'm sure he will comment if he sees this thread actually.

at the end of the day AATW is out to make money, and by the sounds of it their succeeding, their not in it for the music, what ever we say won't deter them. well thats my opinion anyway.
