Can someone tell me why people waste drugs on stupid modern hardcore synths??
I've never taken an drugs at raves, and i never will, because drugs were made for piano Stabs and not stupid camp Synths.
So i suppose the lack of piano stabs in hardcore is, and has ALWAYS, in effect kept my system clean of pottentially harmfull chemicals.

i havn`t been at an event in years but they were a big part of the rave scene then 90`s
i even got offered an e of a member of a well known scottish act/PA
when i was back stage at a REZ.
but they weren`t made for raves...ecstasy has been out a lot longer than the rave scene
its just that the 2 seemed to come together in a big way at that time.

You could say to someone "you don't truly enjoy going to the cinema if you need a bag of popcorn to enjoy it". You'd be right. The thing is, loads of people who do truly enjoy going to the cinema still take a bag of popcorn with them when they go.

Would love to have been there myself, catjam! These days it is just popcore & all the chavs want to do coke which is a big no in my book!
I havn't done them in a long time but if I ever do them again I will make sure im listening to some full on classicvs with hard kicks! Don't see (or hear) how some people get a 'rush' from the stupid basslines & MC Storm rattling on about how he used to be a raver (in abtter days) & on the count of 3 make some noise for Dj Sy!
I don't need drugs to have a good time & even feel like im coming up when listening to some classics (thats how good they are lol) But as someone said ina youtube video which was at a rave in 1992 he was ask if he needed drugs to have a good time he replied 'No, but it does help!' The down side is you never know whats in them & people have died as a result of overdose so it is a shame really!

Uh, "you don't truly enjoy going to the cinema if you need a bag of popcorn to enjoy it" and "loads of people who do truly enjoy going to the cinema still take a bag of popcorn with them when they go." are quite different. You might want to revise your post.

I know they're quite different. Just making sure you're both aware of that difference. ;)

Bulby, your post is completely irrelevant. Popcorn doesn't make you enjoy any old shite.
And it's not a dig at people who do drugs at parties, it's an acknowledgment that needing them to have fun at a party means if you didn't take them, maybe you wouldn't be as hardcore as you think you are.

Geez Smoogie, everytime you plug that thunderdome track in a thread, I can't help but laugh :P
And in my book, there's nothing like a good uplifting and happy Hardcore set on a peak of E. Of course, someone who really is into Hardcore doesn't have to take E to have a smashing time, but not everybody has to be omgzhtid and hardcore-or-nothing to go to a rave and have a good time.

Exactly. That's what I was "quoting for truth."
