i personally never tell anyone at work/school that i listen to happy hardcore.
i'll say electronic music, but since most people don't even like that, that's where i leave it. i usually get the "oh, one of those..." type of look.
does anyone else on here straight up say happy hardcore when asked this question? i just personally don't like explaining it to people who have never experienced a hardcore party, i have mostly just gotten bad reactions because it's not socially acceptable (i realize i'm not being true to myself or whatever, but... whatever. i do like other musics, so it's not entirely a lie either).
you have to admit that even within the (supposedly) open minded rave scene, it's a bit of a joke. this is even worse when non-ravers are subjected to hhc.
what about y'all?

it's nicer than the crap hole i moved away from, ontario.
we have a huge lake and some really nice mountains, so if boardsports are you thing, kelowna is a pretty decent place.
the scenery is nice around here, but it's an expensive place to live. i suppose the same could be said for anywhere though.

yea they get surprised and all that stuff, but i don't care. i told them i listend 2 all of the rap/hiphop, the rock, etc and got tired of it. and i tell them i've been listening to this for 8 years and i haven't stopped.

even in back in america i wouldnt lie about what i listen to, i had an ex over there who used to smoke - and when we were coming to the checkouts i used to say loudly in my british accent "MY DEAR, ARE YOU QUITE SURE YOU DONT NEED ANY FAGS?!?"

No never. I like what i like & if other people choose to hate it that's their choice. In the 90's i used to have to explain to some friends what Hardcore was as they had never heard of it. Don't be embarrassed about liking Hardcore.
