this.
i highly doubt i will have anything this year - unless i magically come across some spare time - my wedding is a month away...
and i think it should be anon, when they are all put for dl they should just be labeled
1 - (name of track)
2 - (name of track)
etc
etc
that way people can vote for a number

Still miles above the last ones!
Yeh, totally unusable....
....and the last ones were complete rubbish. We expect much better than this for nothing.
Agreed. Track names the same as last time to help prevent partisan voting.

Melodyne.
http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=products_plugin But looking at the prices that is bloody costly! Just have to go off what you hear if you cant splash out that much unfortunately mate. Ive made a start but unfortunately have not a lot of time on my hands and a lot of stress with more important things. Might not be able to put something together in time :(

Cubase 5 has a built in function called variaudio that is similar to Melodyne. Could use this if you have C5.
You don't need anything like this though, just match it by ear. If you find this difficult, work out what notes the vocals are being sang in and plot out a melody that matches it in piano roll. From here you can work out everything you need.

Well, yeah. Every remix community that has contests generally provides at least professionally recorded material. A bad mic can ruin an otherwise decent session. Surely someone here could have donated the studio time to record the vocals properly? Doesn't take long to record a couple of minutes of vocals. Unless money is your motive, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The fact is that because it's free, we should expect more. If you get complacent, you get lazy, and that leads to bad producing habits.

Isnt this production competition supposed to be a bit of fun?

Though I came in fifth that last one, the remix I made ended up being quite useful for this here mix... http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=42270 *shameless plug*

Ive got the first 2 minutes or so of the track done, Ive actually really impressed myself, I think the track has good ideas and decent sounds.
However...........
When it comes to voting, mine will be easy to spot.....Just look for the one thats out of key.
Ive tried matching the vocals to the pads and bass but im really struggling and I feel it may be out of key :( Other than that its a good track lol (like when the vocals are not playing)

I've got a great vocalist and spot-on recording equipment. If no one likes this we can have another session when the summer starts and I can have about 3 or 4 different vocals recorded, some in minor, some in major, depending on what your cup of tea is.
