went to asda/walmart at lunchtime
this is what i was greeted with...
"compilation of the week" apparently, and its the same all over the UK, this sunday is the first sunday after it was released and i bet you its at #1...still at the moment its higher than hannah montana, Now 72, trance anthems, pacha and headkandi's album.. hehe
interesting to see chillout/ambient albums making a comeback as well..
5 seconds later, i reached forward took a copy (only two left) and went and payed for my hardcore, listening to it right now (starting with CD1 Sharkey..) in a way it feels like bonkers 6 so far with its lack of freeform, but the music hasnt been bad...and im up to track 9..

You're all babies. Get over it. Hardcore is moving on, deal with it. The whole first disc is beautiful but it's not good enough, because "OMG A SCOOTER REMIX? NO WAIT 2!?!?! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!" for ****'s sake, 2 tracks you don't like? Skip them. Hixxy's mix? It will be AMAZING for the newcomers, I mean just look at how epic the tracklist is, whether you have the songs already or not, it is bound to draw new people in.
And with the history bit inside the booklet Clubland ravers are bound to go back and buy more Bonkers. It's a good thing for the scene. These songs are produced so well... it's like, "oh my god, this song's vocals are SO catchy, and that riff is just amazing! But wait! This is AATW? I can't like it! I must hate it! God Sharkey you're such a fine producer, but this... no! NO! Not that it's anything different, it's just the same stuff you've been doing all along, but now you're on AATW? Well I must hate you then. And wow Unknown, that's a damn catchy track. That would get everyone going at a rave! But wait, you've never made a gabber or freeform track? And what's this... AATW? **** you Unknown!"
^ Okay this was a bit of an exaggeration but still, it's how some of you are reacting. Just enjoy hardcore for what it is. Whether you like it or not, Clubland Hardcore IS hardcore, just as any other album is. Please remove yourself from your narrow-minded bubble of "underground core" and realize that the only way our scene will be successful is if we embrace all types of music within it.
AMAZING, someone sees the light!
AMEN, for ****s sake.

I embrace and support every letter from every word you just wrote mate.

EDIT-Yes Latin please be quiet, Trimms is right about the elitist ****s in hardcore.

just finished CD1, halfway through CD2
so far its my least favorite of all the bonkers. thats nothing to do with AATW, or scooter, or anything else people are whining about - I simply am not fond on the music, or style of hardcore featured on the album. i was perfectly happy to give this album a huge chance - but i would choose the Freeformation album from a while back over this anyday.
theres a couple of songs i enjoyed (donna grassie ftw) but overall i dont feel it holds up to the other bonkers..as far as variety goes and songs that i would listen to over and over..
listening to the final track on CD1 - Sharkeys Mix..."freeform will never die" it got me thinking, did they deliberatly leave off the darker stuff so as to keep freeform underground?
then again listening to the quite uplifting speach the fellow was giving in that song...what does he mean by "rise up"...despite it being a rather good speech...to say "we're keeping it underground and real" or the like...
and then to follow it up with "we shall rise up and get bigger" and such...isnt that exactly what underground isnt supposed to do...not supposed to rise up, thats what keeps it underground lol
anyway, im still quite happy to have paid for the album the artists deserve the cash, hardcore deserves the recognition

I understand where you're coming from...but it's almost as if you're trying to like it. I cannot think of a worse Bonkers released, but not getting into that whole debate again ta!

Whats with the 'mixing' on the hixxy disc - bringing in Electric during the track before just sounds like a retard battering faders about like a twat.
The he brings in Your my angel, it just starts like WTF, sounds awful.
I took it back to Asda, told them I was dis-satisfied with it and got my £11.xx back. I don't see I should pay for something I could mix better at home! He is a so-called top tier big hitter DJ and churns out pap like that.

its a hell of a lot better than i was expecting. sharkeys disk is great, really enjoy this mix, chriss unkowns disk is poor quality but with a few good songs ( namely guitar hero ) hixxys disk is a bit pointless but a few good tracks. its still not very good overall but alot better than expected
Also i see alot of the songs on hixxy's disk have not been listed as remixes, such as getting better and free your mind, and also amigos on chris's disk. well picky

Erm, no. I love what AATW have done with Clubland X Hardcore (my fave Hardcore series) but this is crap. so are the scooter mixes (one rubbish, one good remix production but you can't help thinking its Scooter for ****s sake... the same people mis-resprenting Hardcore with misleading albums titles such as "Our Happy Hardcore" - No its not Happy Hardcore, and neither are the early techno tunes either.

Ive got my copy! ive listened to the Sharkey compilation and i firggen love it! i havent even listened to Unknown and Hixxy yet. But im afraid to do that, because ive heard they arent that good, and it might ruin the whole thing. But hey Go Sharkey.
There are a couple songs Sharkey could of taken out and put it new songs, Freeform will never die should of been taken out, and the 2 scooter songs, didnt need them. Could of replaced them with better songs.

iv only herd clips of it but it doesn`t do anything for me...but then again not much commercial hardcore does
its funny, hardcore & raves years back were more popular when it wasn`t commercial
infact the only coverage they got was in the news when people were wanting it banned lol
