its one of those songs where you say you like it, but you dont want to listen to it because you have heard it so many times..

it just lays dormant rated 5* on your playlist

I actually preferred CXH5 to this! At least Unknown's mix, which is where the cheese was. CXH5 actually had a bit of creative depth. It was poppy, but very commercial - which you guys may hate but meant top notch producing. Unknown's whole mix bar a few tunes seems to be simply boring vocals + 10 second build-up = generic riff over predictable progression! And to be honest, there were no pads, or even thick bass lines. It was just a weak lead synth over a chunky bass. CXH5 had all sorts of synths and energy, which even this particular Bonker's mix lacked in my opinion.

I'm pleasantly surprised... Didn't bother listening to CD3 yet but I love these tracks:

CD1:

Arkitech - When Tears Fall (Love the vocals)
Sharkey - Today's The Day (Darwin Remix) (Not sure if I like it better than the original)
S3RL - Here We Go
Scooter - Jumping All Over The World (Sharkey & K Komplex Remix)
Scooter - Posse (Weaver Remix)

CD2:

LMC vs U2 - Take Me To The Clouds Above
Rampant DJS Feat. JT - Alabama (Sy & Unknown Remix)
Topvibe vs DJ Sy - Pacman
Dougal & Gammer - Guitar Hero
Phaze4 - You're Never Gonna Know (Scott Brown Remix)

My review now I have listened to it fully...

Sharkey's disc is easily the best of the 3, many great tunes. Unknown's disc is a bit of a dissapointment with only a couple of decent tunes. Hixxy's disc, only skipped through it as I've got them all on other compilations. The likes of scooter, flip & fill, LMC etc do not belong on Bonkers.

I'll be honest, I downloaded the release off a file sharing site just to see what it was like, and I was correct in thinking it's certainly not worth the money, it's not even worth the HDD space. I'd rather buy the songs I like most off of Sharkey's disc separately than give any money to AATW.

Bring on Hardcore Underground 4!

EDIT: I'm not advocating file sharing, we need to support the artists that produce the music we love, that said it can be useful for try before you buy.

That all depends on perspective. You can listen to samples of all the tracks on Juno and other sites anyway, so its just like having high quality samples... now I know it's not worth buying it's been deleted. I wouldn't buy it for £1 out of a Bargain Bin.

I do not have an endless supply of cash to spank on albums, so I like to see if they are worth they money before I buy them, so I end up say 5 out of 5 albums I like and not 3 I like and 2 I throw to the side and never listen to again. The money I would have invested in the new Bonkers album can now be used to buy the few tracks I do like but don't have on Sharkey's CD and so my money will be supporting the artists I like and not AATW who f*cked up Bonkers.

you pick and choose which albums you buy. By downloading, you are also uploading, which means you may thionk your doing the right thing but really you just supplying other people with parts of the album for free. thats how it all works..

I don't upload a single byte of data, I don't acquire the releases via *******s. I actually spend more money on music as a by product of trying compilations before I buy them as it often leads to the discovery of new artists or I'll find other tracks by the same artist which I really like.

I thought the tunes featuring Grant Paterson on vocals were good. I was really disappointed with the other tunes by Sy & Unknown with the female vocals: Heaven help me now & Your Love is shining by Emily Reed, If you believe and Chris Unknown's - Wanna be here with you. Sy & Unknown have done some great female vocal tracks in the past eg. Only Your Love but these ones were definately not up to the same standard.

Give them some time to grow on you! It's always like that on first listen for me with Sy & Unknown's work. Heaven Help Me Now is amazing, the vocals are beautifully written.
