alright i hear ya if your from a small town...although i did drive from toronto to quebec city just to experience a party....and i have plenty of my own problems with some of the people running things out here and the scene itsself (for instance the retarted notion of getting dressed up in beads to go to a hardcore rave..i mean WHY? lol) but who cares how spread out the population is...scratch that. its an even BIGGER deal that the population is so spread out that a couple thousand will get together for very quality parties.

im just saying that after the CLEAR dowswing of hardcore popularity that did occur. lately i have seen signs of improvement and growth, which is very nice to see. not just in canada ( i mean ontario and quebec as i cant comment on other places) but the whole eastern seaboard seems to be growing...2 years ago Hixxy would not have been brought to NYC i dont think. posative things at least is what i see

its too bad though that you dont know anyone neer ya that listens to hardcore, although i KNOW you are deffinetly not the only one in quebec who listens to hardcore. but you should try and make your way to an event closest to you....i assume that you have at least been to A party? because im sure people close to you exsist that listen to hardcore, and its not dead or even (imo) dying. quite the contrary

if ya want to come all the way down to toronto im sure you'd have an amazing time!

also...have you tried introducing people to hardcore? maybe they will like it and you can have some friends who listen to hardcore too!

...sorry for goin off topic...back to BONKERS!

The mixing is certainly not the best, but the tracklistings were great and that's what people remember most. It really was an amazing thing to be able to buy Hardcore on mainstream shelves. Hardcore really has been going downhill in Canada eversince the H2BH series ended. It's no coincidence that the popularity of the genre has always been proportionnal to it's mainstream distribution. It's exactly the same in the UK, where Bonkers is hitting mainstream shelves at the time the genre is at it's peak of popularity.

It's pretty irrelevant to H2BH, it's more that Frolic stopped throwing Hulla as often, and police/legislation has gotten alot more stringent.

I won't even bother writing a review for it. I bought it today and 90% of it is disgusting.

It's not all about Toronto, let alone their party scene! H2BH was big in Canada and even the USA. Although it's true, the end of Hullabaloo was like the final nail in the coffin... We've all been trying to revive a dead horse ever sice :P I hope it works someday.

So true its not even funny! Im pretty sure im the only one in the whole province of quebec that listens to hardcore electronic music. I have not met one person in the whole 6 years ive been listening to hardcore, it sucks. But hey, as long as i get the music and HMV im fine with dat!

Dude, are you serious?!?!

You've gotta come to a Hardcore party in Monteal, Quebec or even Ottawa this summer! There are huge parties in the making, with international headliners! Trust me, you are NOT the only one to listen to Hardcore in Quebec! Have you ever visited www.rave.ca ?

I suggest you do, here's my profile: www.rave.ca/member/matricks

The same is in the United States. H2BH was one of the only easy hardcore CDs to be found in the U.S. There was a very short time period where the Hot Topics were carrying RAVE GEAR and HARDCORE cds. (atleast where I was living at the time) As I said though, it was VERY VERY short lived. Hot Topic is where I got my first hardcore CD.

Mainstream exposition and distribution had A LOT to do in Hardcore's popularity! I went on a shopping trip to the States with some friends back in 2005 I think, hoping to go to Hot Topic and get a brand new pair of Phat Pants because my old ones were getting, well, old. We found out when we got there that they had JUST stopped selling them... I really miss Rave Fashion and culture from back then!

You're all babies. Get over it. Hardcore is moving on, deal with it. The whole first disc is beautiful but it's not good enough, because "OMG A SCOOTER REMIX? NO WAIT 2!?!?! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!" for ****'s sake, 2 tracks you don't like? Skip them. Hixxy's mix? It will be AMAZING for the newcomers, I mean just look at how epic the tracklist is, whether you have the songs already or not, it is bound to draw new people in.

And with the history bit inside the booklet Clubland ravers are bound to go back and buy more Bonkers. It's a good thing for the scene. These songs are produced so well... it's like, "oh my god, this song's vocals are SO catchy, and that riff is just amazing! But wait! This is AATW? I can't like it! I must hate it! God Sharkey you're such a fine producer, but this... no! NO! Not that it's anything different, it's just the same stuff you've been doing all along, but now you're on AATW? Well I must hate you then. And wow Unknown, that's a damn catchy track. That would get everyone going at a rave! But wait, you've never made a gabber or freeform track? And what's this... AATW? **** you Unknown!"

^ Okay this was a bit of an exaggeration but still, it's how some of you are reacting. Just enjoy hardcore for what it is. Whether you like it or not, Clubland Hardcore IS hardcore, just as any other album is. Please remove yourself from your narrow-minded bubble of "underground core" and realize that the only way our scene will be successful is if we embrace all types of music within it.
