I just noticed it on my USB gaming headset as well, I've made a clip -

I only have the 320 mp3 from trackitdown but exported as wav so as to not introduce anything else

edit: we did hear it on his equipment, it was definitely there, but a touch less. As it is, I wouldn't play this mp3 in a set

Thanks for the clip. I'll do some quick analysis and post my findings.

FINDINGS:
There is a slight amount of intersample peak clipping in that song, but honestly not that much compared to most other stuff out there which doesn't have such noticeable clipping. I heard a huge amount of clipping in that file, though. The worst of it was at the end of the clip starting around 42 seconds.

I think the only way to know for sure is buy the wav from trackitdown and see if it has this problem as well. If not, then it must be a problem on the mastering engineer's end.

I don't really know what that stuff means but the hiss/buzz on the vocal should be really quite apparent on anything as good as my headset

edit: ffs sorry, edits edit edits, I assume if it's on the version CDJay has then we also have the answer. I begrudge paying for it from trackitdown again

This was on an HU mixed CD, right? If so, then CDJay likely has an unmastered version, because the whole mix would be mastered as a single unit (I think). I'm tempted to buy the wav on trackitdown myself and see if it has the clipping.

Yeah, the discs are mixed and then mp3 downloads for unmixed.

If you do buy it, and it hasn't got it, do send it over ;)

I remember when the promoter of Dreamscape, Gill, pulled a moon (got his arse out) ON CAMERA! It was at a Slammin Vinyl event. The jury is out as to weather this is embarassing or not. In the middle of a set, Slammin cut the music, then cut to Gill getting his arse out on the video. LOL
