I was just wondering what you all think.
Do you think Drugs like ( E's ) are widley associated with this type of music?
And what sort of empresion do you think it that link gives people who don't listen to this type of music?

Not a lame topic at all it's sad that people are so steriotypical about rave and drugs when if you look into it other music cultures they probably have people that take drugs etc... and people that don't it's down to the individuals not the music!!

Wasn't goin to reply to this but after I read that comment....It's a shame that you hear of all these 'Rock 'n' Roll' bands and that whole genre in general...The artists openly say they are heavy drug abusers... (Not quite those words-but they use drugs a lot)...You never hear people bad-mouthing that genre as "thats just for druggies'" ....."It's Rock n'n Roll".
That'll probably make no sense at all but thought I had to say it....

Bein honest no wonder people associate e's with raves jus go to any event and look around and you'll see why. I dont see it as a bad thing but the reason people associate the rave scene with drugs is that although rock n roll folks love them jus as much they dont walk about in t shirts with a massive e on them and blatantly advertising it for the outside world to see. And it aint jus hardcore thats associated with drugs people think the exact same about hard house and most the dance music scene.

I kind of don't agree you look around at a rave and yes some people are nutted but others are just lost in the music and lovi'n it ! and the whole t.shirt thing have you seen what rockers etc.. advertise on their t.shirts!

Yes, even more so in the eyes of the mainstream media than the actual EDM scene. Raves were brought to mainstream attention not long ago and along with them the "new designer drug" Ecstacy, hence it's so widely associated with raves. Sucks how people think that when you go to a rave you take copious ammounts of substances and get completely wankered while listening to loud and repetative music :)
But we know its not at all about the drugs, but about the music, the people, and the bond made through sound, light, and dance.

When i first discoverd hhc i mentioned it to a few people that i liked it and they responded saying something like, "thats kandy kid music" or " thats what E-heads like". They made it sound like only people who take e would listen to it. But later on i discoverd a lot of people who dont take drugs of any kinde like it too. But so, yeah, i think it is accositated with the drug E. (by ignorant people)
