The rave scene has greatly evolved since it firs started as the paryt scene.
back then.. yeah it was alll about the drugs..Now well in my experience.. it isnt nearly overcome by the drugs.
dont get me wrong im still quite new to the scene(3 years) but ive noticed that its more about people going to respect the dj's and to generally ahve a good time rather than just go to do drugs. But there will always be E and such at a rave no matter where you go.

I'm not sure this kind of music drives people to take drugs like E's. People take drugs all the time. For those who do not listen to music like TECHNO, RAVE, and HARDCORE, should'nt be fooled.

E is used to allow yourself to have a good time and what not.
Its used at raves generally for the vibe you feel from other people,because there is generally no hostility and people are open minded and free spirited.
E is commonly known as the"Rave drug" Hence where kandy kids originated from..were the people using e who would suck on soothers to stop from grinding theyre teeth..and who wore bright colors.
Now it has evolved. i have many friends who adore wearing soothers and who are known as a kandy kid but would never touch E. I used to aswell but i didnt do the drugs associated with it.

Anyway, the lyrics have blatently been made so that Ecstacy can be repeated in the chorus - I don't find anything wrong with that, and its a f*king brilliant tune! - but thats why. The list can go on and on.....To be honest, I'd be pretty worried if I associated everything I heard with E's.....
And i've generally associated a lot of hardcore tunes to love songs... I agree that there is songs directed at E's...Ive one on CD which talks solely about "A little pill called ecstacy....yes, this song is about ecstacy"...But I can't see the reason why or how so many tunes could be produced around E's....and wouldn't see the point in it....

I've not said "dropping e's is shite"....I haven't experienced it....It effects everyone differently. And there is no way you can know what way the music effects each individual...and am sorry to see that you have to take drugs whenever you go raving. I....DON'T want to, I don't NEED to...and I do NOT see that as a problem.
And what your basically saying is that producers make hardcore....so that people can go out and "start dropping"?!?!?

I did not say "you don't enjoy the rave as much as people dropping"...you just said that i said that. i know full well how much people fell the choons, sober or mashed. I havnt had pills for a long time man so i dont "take drugs whenever I go raving".
Chill man i wasnt tryin 2 get u all angry n shit.
Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least they're the scenic route. . .

As I said before, I enjoy raving without pills but with pills it is enhanced. You in a complete other world when your pilling and it is the best feeling ever. Like you said, pills do affect different people in different ways, but the way in which everyone percieves music when taking pills is one of the few things that remains the same. You have to enjoy the music before pills to enjoy it even more on them.
Those who haven't experienced the use of pills should not comment on how they effect you because you haven't the experience to make claims about what effect they have.

I understand what your sayin monkey...like I said before...I can't comment on them as i've not tried (and don't intend to try) them....It's just...me, I suppose....and it's each to themselves.
Syanide...No worries mate, I wasn't having a go at you. But you did state that if I dropped e's every weekend...I'd see how and why every tune is made and based around E's.... (Not in those words obviously)...how do you work that out?

I love the hardcore scene and I don't do drugs, but I'm fine with people that use them at a rave. Most of my friends use e's at a rave and they always get very happy from it. Almost 98% of the people that go to hardcore events are on drugs and it isn't only xtc. They use a lot more over here in Holland. I used to associate Hardcore with drugs and thus 'bad', but I have to say that I've changed my opinion. You must have been to a rave to know that the hardcore scene isn't a bad thing, even with the drugs. But the outsiders aren't wrong about the usage of drugs during a rave.
