Hardcore makes me happy, pilling with hardcore makes the most unbelievable feeling, is it worth it? YES it is!
Although not needed, makes it so much more when you try with some friends...

No, no, not at all..... I'm just saying that drugs influenced ALOT of the earlier dance scene from 1988 onwards. Not necessarily by the DJs doing drugs, but mostly through the clubbers being all tripped out on E and LSD. For instance, Acid House got its name from the first ever track to use a 303 for its squelch, which was a track by Phuture's "Acid Tracks". It was called this because the first time it was played it cleared the floor, it was played again later that night and had a bit of a better response, and then dropped at 4am when (and I quote) "everybody's drugs had kicked in" and the place went mental. The track was then nicknamed "Ron Hardy's Acid Track". Just one example. If your interested in Dance's assosciation with drugs then check out chapter 14 (The DJ As An Outlaw) of Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton's book "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life". The whole book is a fantastic read on the history of the DJ and Dance Music in general.

Yeah but c'mon...!!!
I know that the word's proper meaning is a state of happiness etc but there are definately some tracks that slip it in deliberately.
There's a track (I don't know its name) that goes "...you are my ecstacy..." then goes on to go "...ecstac..eeeee, eeeee, eeeee. ecstac...eeeeee, eeeeee, eeeee..." I cannot believe anyone can think that that isn't a reference to e's! (C'mon!)

Listen to it again....It's clearly not about e's....
What about songs that extend the word "Fantasy"...Sounds like fantaseeee,eeee.....Just because it sounds like e's (The drug), it certainly doesn't mean it's refering to it...

I think that you have a point to an xtent but I have to agree with mustapha, some songs do refer to e quite blatently but only a small minority i suppose it's how each individual persives the song words and it,s such a hard subject to get your head around as every1 has a different opinion

Yep, we all have different perceptions on what the vocals in songs mean, but it is exactly that, a perception and by no means is it nessecarily the authors original intent.
When some songs use the word ecstasy it may trigger the thought of pills in some people and in others a higher state of happiness.
