Some Peta2 guy gave me a booklet on mass production farming and it made me not want to eat meat. So today was my first successful day not eating it, and I can say I liked it.

Nice, my dad has been vegan for 20 years now. I just need to get over my BK addiction and I'll be solid.

That should make it easy to keep up then; he will be a constant motivator to you.
Good on you anyway though you're doing the right thing.

People have been eating meat for 100's of years but it dosn't mean that it's natural. There is so many bollocks theories on how we 'need' meat but the only reason anyone could possibly need it is because it's so long been established. In any case, even if we were designed to eat meat, that dosn't mean you have to do it. The fact that everyone else does is just an excuse.

Why can't we just eat both, and be happy?

Give me one reason why we shouldn't be eating meat? It IS natural to eat it. The only thing you could that wouldn't be natural is trying to eat it through your nose. I'm a proud: Gimme a steak, with a salad! Kind of guy.

I respect vegetarians, and vegans, but I won't go that way. I eat the same, hell probably more, of other things that isn't meat. Now eggs and cheese on the other hand, that's where vegans get me at.

No way I couldn't live without my egg sandwiches.

What is natural about breeding animals to kill for your eating pleasure? If people started harvesting humans would you consider that natural too? There is literally no difference unless you value human life above an animals which is just silly. I'm not meaning to argue against what you said, i respect that you gave your view in respect of others peoples views.
I'm not biased either, i like meat like most people do (wether or not i eat it) but i'm not going to pretend it's natural.

Ok, its impractical to get all of your protein and carbohydrates from food which has not been produced with animal products, it also limits your meals to expensive uncreative alternatives which narrows your food options further.

its more economically viable to eat food that uses animals or is animals, its more fulfilling in terms of taste and most imprtantly, it doesnt make you seem like a pretentious wanker who is just being a vegan to change peoples perception on what type of person you are.

Now, is that a valid comment?

This isn't about what we do to get the meat.

You said, and what it looked like in the beginning, that eating meat wasn't natural. Which it is. You can disagree on how they raise, and kill the animals. But that is an entire different conversation then the one I was talking about.

are we not harvesting wheat?

wheat releases chemicals when they are 'killed' just as animals release chemicals
that means plants are in a sence concious of themselves being destroyed, so by your logic its immoral to cultivate crops of wheat and kill them as they are living beings.

Sure, but what i'm talking about is the reality of it and it's the reason why Sakari is becoming vegan.
