Everyones body's handle energy intake differently.

I eat more than most people and i still have a thin frame, i just can't put on body fat very easily. It runs through my whole family.

Whether as someone else on the exact same diet as me could weigh 20 kg more

You're one of these people........

Studies show that pigs, who people think are nasty brainless animals, are in fact smarter than many dogs. Pigs know when they are going to die, they feel pain, and can go insane. A plant has no brain, no thoughts, no pain.

Prove it.

Just because we can't dissect a plant and see some kind of "organ", doesn't mean they can't feel pain.

There's more then meets the eye. Take our brain for example. In this day in age, we still don't know how it works, or why it works. We just know it does. Something like OUR brain, the same exact one of mine thinking of itself, doesn't know how it works. So you're telling me just because we THINK a plant can't feel pain, that it doesn't? Because it doesn't have a mouth to cry? Pfft, please.

Edited for spelling >.>

That's a fair comment, apart from the fact that you think eating meat is ok, which is your choice but you cant defend meat eating, then try and say killing plants is wrong at the same time to somehow justify eating meat. If you don't beleive eating meat is wrong then you can't honestly beleive eating plants is either so it has no real value if you say you do. I know your not the person who originally said it but i'm just speaking generally.

I never said it was bad.

I'm not trying to justify anything.

But, you can't honestly tell me that you know, for a fact, that plants can't feel pain. Because, like everything else in life, you truly don't know.

Sakari just keeps trying to play off how eating plants is more humane. Which it wouldn't be if plants did feel pain, and we didn't know it.

Well, he can do his best within the knowledge that he has, and that is as far as he and anyone else knows plants do not feel pain. Also, alot of the time you don't kill the plants to harvest them, you take away the fruit or whatever then the plant continues to live etc.
Your trying to make him sound like the bad guy for dissagreeing with the eating of meat lol, he is at least TRYING to do what is right, no one else even cares.
You can't use someone elses good intentions to defend your own bad ones (whoever that may be).

Don't tell me what is right and wrong.

I have no more to say on the subject, I leave Yoda in my place.

This being said, we know for a fact that animals feel pain and have intelligence. Therefore, they should be left alone.

Also, I just had some tofu chicken, and as someone who has been eating meat everyday until two days ago, I think it tastes much better than real chicken, and I'll choose it over a burger anyday.

wouldnt plants have to have some type of intelligence to grow to the sun, and puts its roots into the ground? it would have to have some type of intelligence some how, its not mindless....

if you think eating plants is right cuz they have no "brain" then why cant you eat alot of sea food?
there are many sea animals that dosent have a brain we can see or find, but yet they react to pain and/or movement from something around it.......

so wouldnt the plant have to have some intelligence?

sorry i think im rambling, just woke up after a long night >_>

ohh i love how this forum goes from not eating meat to Triquatra bad eatting habits lol

whilst i was in america i found the veggie food sucked and didnt improve over the 5 years i was there - they dont put the effort into it because they dont think there is the market - thus small quantitys are made, and what is made, isnt great.
same with the resturants and food joints, minimal meat-free choice.

this is of course comparing it to british veggie food, of which there is much much greater variety and better options, resturants and food joints have many more meat free options

i guess its just more acceptable to not eat meat and listen to dance music in england ;)

so far thats the only things i see the UK beating america on so far though! :P
