Hell, for all we know plants live and can feel; we just don't know it yet.

So you're raising plants just to eat them!

OMG!

Sorry, I really have no come back. I just can't think about not having eggs...or bacon.

Well, that comes down to needing food to live. It's not neccesary for animals to be mass killed to survive by any means, it's for peoples eating pleasure. That is where most of the problem lies.

Have to agree there, humans by nature eat everything. You would have lived an unhealthy life without meat. Though in todays western world we eat a lot more meat then we "should". Though with todays knowledge one can go without meat, and replace it with other stuff. Each to their own i suppose. Ive been thinking of going to an only reindeer meat diet :p The only animals i know that live through their whole life in their natural habitat. Its just damn expensive...

I hadn't even noticed the question and even if i did would have assumed it was rhetorical. If you do indeed need me to tell you, then yes it is a valid reply. I'm not in a position to say what is valid and not anyway, it's just that if you want people to take seriously what you say then you need to articulate it in a way that is not just blatantly opionated.

Yeah but that's because most people only happen to eat it because it tastes nice as oppose to being healthy. If they ate it for the nutrients in it they could just as easily get the same nutrients from other places but yes, most people don't do that and protein is absolutely neccesary in the diet.

What i ment was (and i'm not an expert in the subject) that say 100 years ago, people didnt know about those things, they wouldnt have known how to replace it. AFAIK thats just stuff thats only known in the past decades.

But whatever the course one takes, if youre going to take advice from PETA, you deserve a slap in the face. That is nothing more then a hypocrite organization that wants to spread fear and lies among people. Their really doing more harm then good, since the good organizations are getting a bad name because of them.

yeah the question was rhetorical.. i just thouhgt you would have wanted to reply to the point i was making..

Im not really bothered what people want to do or not, each to their own.. without conflict everything would be boring

anyway, ive enjoyed this discussion :D bed time now

If it's the farming methods that bother you then why not buy freerange?

Then why do we have to cook meat? If we we're meant to be carnivores, we'd be able to properly digest uncooked meat.

Give me one reason why we shouldn't be eating meat? It IS natural to eat it. The only thing you could that wouldn't be natural is trying to eat it through your nose. I'm a proud: Gimme a steak, with a salad! Kind of guy.

I respect vegetarians, and vegans, but I won't go that way. I eat the same, hell probably more, of other things that isn't meat. Now eggs and cheese on the other hand, that's where vegans get me at.

No way I couldn't live without my egg sandwiches.

Watch the peta video "Meet Your Meat". If you eat meat and dairy, you support the way these animals are tortured.

Free range is a joke mate. It's a psychological trick used to make people think they're doing good. I used to get free ranged eggs. Do you realize those chickens suffer just as much as factory farmed egg laying chickens? They walk around with little to no space in their own feces because it is too much to clean it. This being, disease is common in the animals. They suffer just as much.
