ya i could see dubstep influencing hardcore somehow, or at least some producers givin it a whirl. i think it would be cool, being a fan of both...see i thought dubstep was UK based though, comming from grime, no?
...in canada electro is the main 'club' music by soooo far its not even a debate. but at least in toronto there is quite a healthy dubstep scene, all be it kinda tiny, but its mostly people from the jungle scene as toronto has quite a kicking jungle scene...used to be better though like every rave in this freaking city!
*edit, sweet 10 pages! :)....hopefully i have outdone my last comment lol

not sure how it is in canada, but here in the US electro is pretty much a huge club thing such as vocal trance was in the late 90s early 2000s. i don't listen 2 regular radio here but i imagine that electro is the 1 that gets airplays. i think dubstep is getting close to becoming more of a club thing, but in my area of houston it still seems to be more of a movement of a group of ppl rather than available anywhere here.
personally i think electro is ruining the edm scene here in the US. i haven't been to a rave in awhile, but i've seen videos where electro fans do nothing but stare at the dj as if they were in a standing concert. and most events hire more electro djs than anything else, even in a big state of tx we rarely see the inclusion of hardcore djs.

Tbh you never hear either in clubs as in going out drinking on a saturday night clubs. You get commercial dance but not the Electro sound that Hardcore artists use. Well not anymore, that music was a bit of a fad round here, lasted about a month.

What exactly could Dubstep take from Hardcore though? Hardcore doesn't really have a sound that distinguishes it from other genres anymore. It just rips off whatever's popular at the time.
However Old Skool Hardcore is a different matter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhiCR32xXIg Depone & Sonwah Fresh - Old Skool Dub. Samples an Old Skool Hardcore track. Tis a bloody good tune!

Synth? Like a Trance synth?
I can't find the tracks right now, but Lee UHF made a tune called Dubstomp and i think Stylus and AudioJunkie made a tune called Dubzone. Both were Dubstep influenced obviously and there's been a few freeform tunes to use a half time breakdown with lots of wobble. Believe me i'm as upset as you are about it but it's happening.
EDIT
Found the Stylus & AudioJunkie tune http://www.myspace.com/djalexstylus first tune in the player, thought i'd post it, really wouldn't recommend you listen though.

Some Dubstep tunes do have Gabber kicks, but that's taking inspitration from Gabber, not Hardcore. There's really nothing anybody could rip from Hardcore, it just doesn't have a sound anymore. Maybe this is something we could see in 2010? Hardcore finally getting it's own sound instead of taking and cheapening everubody else's :p

So while the scene is being benefited, a lot of primarily-home listeners are getting left in the dust (if you ask me).
I hope I worded that right, my communications skills are fail.

Thirded. I'm getting really sick of vinyl as of late, I wish everyone would just move onto digital lossless formats already. I'm sure DJs would disapprove, but hey, there are products out there like Traktor for a reason.
Vinyl will still be around for a long time :D
