Also Hardcore Underground and Gammers Muffin label have had some very fresh sounding releases. I hope hardcore does evolve much more to a new sound. I listen to House music too and it's evolved much more than hardcore. Gone from Piano to Disco, to rocking edged to electro. And is evolving again with alot of early rave influences starting to become poplular. Which is why House is so popular.

Raver Baby has never been the best label

Oh I beg to differ! from RaverBaby 10 to 50, when they had the most artists releasing on the label, they were very high in the Hardcore food chain. The label has split up since then, which has weakened it, but if you put Junkbox/Futureworld/Twista/24-7/Raver Baby together, it's still a kick-ass collective.

have to agree! there catelgoue is almost the stable brisk set circa 1995! a ****in good time for dutch gabba/happy techno whatever u want to call it!

:-)

have to disagree on raverbaby being the best label. yea they have a lot of artists, but as far as being run efficiently and variety they're not good at all. they take forever to release something, and many times they produce so much that many of the songs fall thru the cracks and never get released. on top of that, it's mostly the same sounds over and over again, not that that is bad at all, but it wouldn't kill them for some variety.

blatant beats & next gen still 1 & 2 (in no particular order) in my books. and on top of that, everything is now available for digital purchase!!!!

Well it was the most poplular as well as winning the award for best label a few times in the hardcore awards. Unlike these tight git digital only label owners that refuse to release any tracks vinyl.

Is already happening in parts. So you might be Mcing Garage:) I think you guys should give Electro a chance. There is a lot of really good uplifting Electro out there which could work so well produced in hardcore. Listen to the track 'all my life' by Dougal, Gammer, Whizzkid and Jenna. Probably one of the best tunes ever.
Electro is the main Club sound in Australia, people love it here at it's a very summer sound. I'm sure it's like that in the UK too. And hardcore follows trends in the club scene.

Hmm, I wouldn't have classed All My Life as being Electro influenced but I suppose it is. As you call it uplifting electro. I'd be happy if electro-influenced hardcore sounded like this.

Yeah Electro seems to be the in thing now. Saw 2 TV ad's in a row for 2 new electro compilations just out from Cream and Ministry Of Sound. I'm not sure what I think of it - prob like the odd tune. Would much prefer trance than electro.

As for how hardcore will sound this year - well I hope it's better than last although there still was some great tunes from 2009.

I'd prefer it go back to how it sounded between 2004-2007 but I suppose it may be bit dated now so it will have to go in a new direction. I'm sure it will not sound a whole lot different to last year.

I still think an old skool influence works really well with modern production so would be good to hear more again as there has been from plenty of tunes from a few years back eg. DJ Seduction - Kick that bass, Sy & Unknown vs Seduction - Vigilante Hardcore, Breeze & Styles - 2 da dancefloor, Darren Styles - Taking me higher.

Bah. You'll soon get bored of all the work it would take and go back to playing volleyball and drinking fosters.

Hardcore won't change instantly. Its been a gradual transition from 10 years ago til now....

Thats the nature of music... evolution.

Just as i wont grow a forth leg for 2011..

omg i went 8 pages without reading/posting for some reason

hardcore WILL change quickly, actually because that IS how innovations usually come, with one random idea, that will have an un-forseen at the time effect on everything else that comes afterwards. it wont be over night, but in a few short months easy. starting right now? i dunno, but it will happen quick. i dont think the big boys get together for an annual meeting to discuss the future sound of hardcore. its just gonna happen one day. just wait OR i know its a novel concept to some, Try somethin your self :)

...did i read people talk about how "now they're making songs for clubs"...i swear to god if i have to rant again...

smoogie were you serous about dubstep (i seriously can't tell an if ya want some samples i'll link em)

donk issss. ok..if those MC's are the best donk has to offer though (i admit i dont really follow it)..i think i'll like em about as much as 90% of hardcore MC's ie not a lot.

i like electro harcore, but i like most hardcore in moderation sooo i think people should agree with those who post about open minds.

yes i was extreamly lazy and didnt get proper quotes or links...i have a feeling half the people here dont read my posts cuz they're usually too long
*edit i dunno why theres an angry face at top of the post...not angry at all lol
