Listening to the Gammer mix now, its very, very good. How this kid didn't get a whole disc is a mystery to me, he has more skills than anyone in hardcore put together and he deserves to be top dog.

Will listen to the others tomorrow!

That's not exactly what I meant. I'm not comparing how much we talk about our dislikes of CXH to criticisms of dislikes of HU albums, because most of us here love the HU albums. I'm talking about the amount of time and posts and threads we spend on negative discussion to CXH albums compared to talking about HU albums in general.

I know, but I don't buy it. I don't buy that the majority here love HU either. CXH gets the most discussion because it's the biggest release of the year, and the de facto face of Hardcore in the mainstream(ish).

I listened to CXH9 a couple of times and I really like it.

CD01 by Darren Styles is full of great "groovy" vocal tracks, as you can expect from Clubland

CD02: I leave all the dubcore thing to the hardcore purists/nostalgics For me is the best cd of CXH9, I really like the mix of "wobble sounding" drum&bass and hc.

CD03: I don't know if, as someone else already wrote before, the bass is skipping, is off-beats or stretched, but the Hixxy's mix clearly has something wrong. I m wondering if there is someone who listen to the mixes before they get released. It's a shame.

As always, the Gammer's mix is great, both technically and for what concern the track selection. But sometimes I would like to hear something more of the tracks he plays ehehehe

Overall, CXH9 it's well mixed (except the Hixxy's one) with a lot of great tracks and a big variety of styles in it (wich for me is something good ).

did you download from TID/Juno, or did you buy the CD, just curious as I'm thinking of buying the CD and I was wondering if it was a problem with just the MP3 download or with the CD itself

I think it's just the CD version. It's probably been timestrehed to fit gammer's mix on. Both mixes are 39+ mins long... Poor show from Hixxy not being able to fit 12 trcks into 40 mins!

Dunno if anyone else has noticed it (Dys7 showed me), but Gammer's put up what seems to be the full version of Bye Bye on his YouTube channel. Such a tune.

I'm pretty sure that proper CD's can overburn for more than the 3 minutes that's needed. But yea, the Hixxy mix sample on TID doesn't skip. But it was still a horrible way to time stretched it. They should've just used pitch and let it sound faster.

Now that hixxy's mix is listenable, maybe it's even worth buying

Maybe u re right guys

Hixxy mix form my cd ripped version length: 39,8 min (http://puu.sh/2lRUV 39,8 minuti on the grey bar in the bottom of the pic)

Hixxy mix from TID is 42,18 min (http://puu.sh/2lRV7)

I like other mixes very much so who cares but I think is really annoyng and unprofessional anyway

well here goes:

CD1 - nothing really stood out for me except bye bye going to have to give it another listen

CD2 - loved this mix I know its not hardcore but my musical tastes seem to be leaning more to DnB/drumstep these days quite happy to have it mixed in with hardcore on the same compilation : )

CD3 - hixxy - was terrible not a single good track Gammer should of had this CD to himself to be honest

CD3 - Gammer - Great mix but found a few bits pointless like cinema, save me & killed the rave (which was on a previous one) maybe if had the whole CD to himself wouldn't of had to cut things so short Don't get me wrong live sets amazing but wanted bit more from a compilation disc that aside Gammer saved CD3 : )

For me, this is the best album of the series. Normally i skip over a few tracks, but with cxh9 I seem to like virtually everything served up here.

Darren Styles mix- great serve up of current hardcore with some great tunes in the mix such as concrete angel, never forget, and the best song on the album...magnetic eyes...such a good tune that last one.

Breeze mix- this could also be my favourite mix on the whole album, maybe because i've never heard drumstep/dnb songs properly before, and so this sounded pretty new and fresh to me...loved all of breeze's tracks, especially bitch slap with the brillant whizzkid on fine form as always.

hixxy mix- this seems to have been criticised a lot, but personally i loved it...stand out tracks include turniup, forget her name, and break the spell

gammer mix- also great, still need to listen to more of this one though.

so yeah, for me, a solid entry into the series....wonder if clubland xtreme hardcore 10 will top it..and if so, what with?...i personally think next year it'll be 3 cds mixed by styles, breeze and gammer......

Here we go.

Styles: I've never liked any of the Darren Styles mixes on anyo of the Clubland albums, ever! But this one,due to the lack of "Oh look at me, Im breeze and Im allowed to put Drum and Bass and Dubstep in this" type tracks, and the abundance of actual Hardcore, this mix was the best one. I loved it.

Breeze: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL what the french toast was that?

Hixxy: Honestly, i would never release something that sounded that bad, sound quality wise.

Gammer: Havent even gotten to it cuz I cant even get past Hixxy's mix.

Purchased last night so heres my 2p worth of the album so far.

Styles Mix: Really fresh with some great tracks, not really a fan of the few 'dubstep' style tracks but beggars cant be choosers. Concrete Angels.....immense track beautifal production on it.

Breeze Mix: Not even bothered listening to it.

Hixxy Mix: Some great tracks but as said before the sound quality is AWFUL....at first I though the CD/Player was acting up but it is the recording, sounds like the beats are clashing and not in sync/timestretched. If the quality was good then this would have been a much better mix.

Gammer Mix: Best mix of the CD, should have had a seperate CD. Amazing tracks and spot on mixing which you wouldnt expect any less from Gammer. There is a reason he is Number 1

Definatly worth a buy and much better then Album 8.

I'll be at the Ravers Reunited Launch party too so bound to hear most of the album played out loud.

Glad I'm not the only one who's hearing timestretch artifacts on Hixxy's mix (they're definitely the result of poor timestretching, I know that sound well). Made it completely unlistenable, extremely unprofessional.

Disappointing album overall. I don't have any problem with the style of hardcore on Styles' disc, I just thought a lot of the tunes were boring and Paranoia/Find Yourself acapella was a bit of a trainwreck. The less said about disc 2 the better (suffice to say that if I wanted Clubland X-Treme Drum & Bass, I would've bought it -- I'm actually a big dnb fan but my point still stands). Hixxy's mix I gave up listening to after a few minutes so I won't pass judgement. Gammer's mix was exactly what you'd expect, enjoyable enough but we've heard most of the tunes (and even several of the transitions) before, plus a couple of the acapella mashups didn't work well at all.

Oh well, there's always next year, chaps. :)
